Barrett undrafted/Etling drafted what more can you say?
I can say that the college game and NFL game are different.

I don't care one iota what a guy does in the NFL (I don't watch NFL). I care about what they do in college.

Convinced that LSU fans are some of the most miserable creatures on earth.

Other than Prescott, it's not as if Mullen rolled out a "who's-who" of QB's at MSU.

Mullen only started 2 QBs at State he recruited for his system. Dak and Fitz. Fitz is pretty good for a guy who's only other offer was Middle TN.

the constant in all of those cases have been urban meyer.

is it just a coincidence that he can go from OC to OC and still have good qb play?

Outside of when urban had dan Mullen and the guy at Texas he hasn’t had much success at developing qb’s at all.

Same goes for Cam's development while at UF.

How could Meyer develop Cam Newton when the kid was to busy stealing laptop computers from other students ?

FYI - CM basically only played 1 year at FLA as a Tr.-FR. He saw action in 5 games and was good enough to be Tebow's backup. During the very first game of his Soph year, Cam suffered an ankle injury. He was red-shirted, and then got caught stealing which resulted in his dismissal from the team.

Cam Newton was such a freak of nature in college that Ray Charles & Stevie Wonder could have coached him and he still would have won the Heisman.

Tell me the last time an Urban Meyer team had poor QB play.

I wouldn't say Urban had poor QB play, but 2016 starter Barrett threw for 2550yds 24 TDs and 7 ints which is pretty similar to Etling in 2017.

2015 Jones/Barrett combined for 2451yds 19TDs and 9 INTs

2014 and 2017 Barrett had very good seasons with combined 69 TDs vs 19 ints. 2015/2016 seasons would be very LSU-esque.

you can't dismiss their rushing stats, though, which brings it way out of LSU category.

Meyer coached on offense (QB/WR) for 11 years before he was a head coach. He coached a defensive unit for 1 year before all of that. I would say he's an offensive guy

He coached wr for 10 of those years, yes. He was a DB and that's what he knows, hes not the developer of offensive schemes he coached wr yo teach them from a DB perspective on how to beat the DB. He isn't a QB developer or offensive guru.

No doubt. I was just speaking specifically about the OSU passing game. Barrett did extremely well as a runner pretty much every season he started.

Not trying to defend Herman or even give a frick, but this is one of the things that I still love about football. A team with military discipline can still line up and smack the shite out of a finesse team.

11 guys on one side of the ball, all working en concert to achieve a goal, while playing smashmouth football. Love it.

He was there 9 years. Why, during that time, did he not recruit more guys of "fit his system"? Hell, by that logic Etling was "pretty good" for a guy Purdue didn't even want as their QB. Particularly in light of the fact he had greater production than Fitzgerald (except running) in just about every other way.

Again, that's not to say Mullen isn't a good coach. But it's a bit of misnomer to say he was a QB whisperer at State

that only works when you're physically dominant. When you face teams of equal talent, you have to rely on strategy and tactics.

You know - coaching.

well, meyer hired those guys. Hiring quality staff is one of the most important tasks of a head coach.

This bashing of Meyer is pretty bizarre.

One of the most positive occurrences in LSU football this off season is acquiring Burrow.

Come on.
