It is unbelievable how favorable their schedule has been

Arkansas remaining schedule:
#1 Texas, @ #2 LSU, #7 Tennessee

The way things are shaping up, I'm starting to think 18-12 with 40+ overall wins will secure a top 8 seed for our Tigers.

19 SEC wins will be an absolute lock. Would be so nice heading to Hoover with a top 8 seed solidified.

One thing I like about college baseball is that you see teams like UC-Irvine, Coastal Carolina, Troy, and Dallas Baptist in the top 25. It's not just slight variations on the same 40 or so power schools that are money-whipping everybody with huge NIL budgets--at least not entirely, not yet. And to be clear, I am absolutely aware that LSU is at the forefront of that group trying to create a college sports oligarchy.

Anyway, just one reason to enjoy college baseball while it still has (some) quirky, not-entirely-corporatized elements. I hope some of these teams make some noise in the post-season--just not at LSU's expense.

maybe, maybe not. They’re both trending in opposite directions but you’ve been down on Texas all year or at least since we played them and they continue to win every week

I think Texas is good but they are playing with a slim margin for error a lot of times. They remind me a lot of Arkansas last year (phenomenal pitching, average offense).

Unfortunately its started to get more slanted to the top teams. Those smaller schools (even smaller than the ones you mentioned) used to be able to win regionals and even get to omaha, now, that feels almost impossible

I think Oral Roberts is the only non power 5 school to make the CWS in the last 6 seasons.

I agree with ya here. Next year when they go to the 35 player cap all on scholarships is gonna change the game, I fear.

I hear ya

Pretty cool that schools like LA Tech get the opportunity to host regionals and you can have dark horses like Fresno St and Coastal Carolina win it all some years. Although with the SEC dominance and NIL today odds are really stacked against them now to pull off runs like that. Half of the SEC teams have played in a national championship over the last 4 years which is insane. More parity in college baseball than other major sports makes it fun

Clemson you mean? Funny they stayed at 3 after getting swept at NC State, who's playing great ball right now.

ELO is #2
RPI is #9

RPI seems low IMO.

The mid majors are getting squeezed like in basketball too though. It used to be that schools like Pepperdine and Cal State Fullerton were blue bloods. I don't think they can compete year in and year out anymore.

They’ve lost 3 straight series and they’ve only won 1 SEC series against a ranked opponent. They are 5-7 the last 12 games played. Heck they are lucky they are still top 10

I was told Jay was a terrible coach, we can’t hit, we would get swept, and this team won’t sniff Omaha.

Massive weekend for us. I would think that if we can win 5 of our last 9 that would lock up a national seed.
