Julien Alfred looked like a female Usain Bolt to me. Tall with long legs and that stride. I have always enjoyed watching these elite sprinters. Congratulations to her and Sha.

So true, The woman that won has the top time in the world for 60 meters this year. For those that are clueless about track that means she comes out quick and gets to top end speed fast. Also Alfred has long legs and stride that is a nasty combination pretty much female Bolt.

Add on Richardson has been working on coming out the block for awhile. It just wasn't clicking at the right time this go around. Richardson has crazy closing speed and it showed in this race moving from 5th to 2nd at the end.

I've always loved 100m and 200m sprint events.

She did.. but to be fair. She and shelley Anne price wasn't allowed to warm up.
They were held at the gate for an hour... had to walk to the front of the gate that took and hour... and then had to walk back to the athletic tent that took another hour... while all the other athletes were already in warming up and resting their legs.

Shelley dropped out because of it. Richardson didn't want to because of the last olympics.

And she still got silver... impressive to me

No she didn’t lol Alfred just beat her

Yeah…..but, but, but, the starter made her have a bad start so at least she got first loser………barely. By next Olympics NOBODY will remember who came in second.

Yes, Richardson will run 4x100 relay Friday, Aug 9 @ 1:30 pm ET. Richardson, Jefferson, Terry, and 4th athlete not announced yet. But guessing 4th may be Gabby Thomas.

the runner up to Usain Bolt

In 2008 Beijing - Bolt’s first Olympics - the runner up was LSU’s National Champion, Richard Thompson.

3rd place was Thompson’s collegiate rival, Walter Dix from FSU.

Talk about insane collegiate competition!

She and Shelly Ann Frazier Price were forced to enter through a different gate than the other runners and weren’t given adequate warmup time. Price withdrew because of it.

False. They did have to enter the warmup track through a different gate but had plenty of warmup time, this according to a Jaimaca team spokesman.Price suffered an injury during warmup which is why she withdrew and has withdrawn from the 200. And this was for the semis, not the final.

quote:

Jamaica chef de mission Ian Kelly told the BBC, “Mrs Fraser-Pryce was allowed to enter the warm-up track but from another gate from which she was directed to enter from. There is no truth that she was not allowed to enter the stadium. Unfortunately she was not able to compete due to an injury sustained during her final warm-up."
