Man your comments in this thread have been spot on. I took my son to his first game last year, he loved the General, Days, and the swagger that our team had. Wade had brought this program back from the dead years of Jones, Johnson, and the last few years of Brady. Wade had the vision, the charisma, the drive to get it done. His team was just a few players away from making serious noise this year. That recruiting class was all my son talked about, after a few games this year he barely watches 5 minutes and he’s done. I hope McMahon starts to get momentum soon because it’s not happening right now. It’s dead and it sucks. With him not receiving a show cause, this stings even worse. I would’ve rather dealt with a couple of years of sanctions with Wade as opposed to blowing it up and starting over again. This is unfair to McMahon as well as it makes his job to bring the fans back that much more difficult.
Your son got to see some good.

He will suffer as is the LSU Basketball fan legacy. This is a badge of honor.

Money can be the great equalizer but don’t discount the fact that many kids want to run through brick walls for WW. Those kind of leadership qualities are God given gifts and are hard to find.

I always go back to his introductory press conference and contrast that with McMahon.

With wades he had a ton of energy and got everyone pumped about the future of a program who just had gone through the Ben Simmons debacle.

McMahon was very mellow and seemed like a solid great guy but he definitely fit the profile of an athletic department trying to avoid sanctions

One gets 18 year old kids hyped, the other maybe turrns out well but we will have to see.

This pretty much sums up how most fans feel (other than the Wade hating zombies). Should have just put up with some self imposed sanctions with Wade. I was more excited with basketball than I had been in years.

Our fanbase is at its most delusional when it comes to this.

We thought all they had was the calls

We thought we weren’t getting allegations

Now y’all believe Wade is getting off.

It just sucks that there wasn't a reason to fire CWW and Woodward set LSU basketball back years.

You are an idiot. CWW was a NCAA lightning rod that set all of LSU back. CMM has his work cut out for him and he has to produce but CWW had to go. If you cant see that you are blind.

If you go back and look CWW was not fired for the violations. He was fired for renegging on promises he made to LSU Admin and the NCAA to provide information/testimony and clean the mess up. He missed deadlines agreed to by him and his legal team.

Wasn’t the only real hard and fast thing they had that bill Armstrong paid it tried to pay someone who didn’t end up with us and that will paid hush money to a players ex girlfriend who was extorting him?

Honestly seems like the fans ended up being right. They didn’t end up having anything real substantial about paying players.

Yeah, Will Wade still hasn't cooperated in the slightest but the NCAA is going to give him a pass? Call me skeptical...

And you seem to be the first person questioning the OP in 6 pages.

So you dont know either. Why hang on to somebody through all the bitter times and then cut him loose. He missed deadlines that forced SWW to terminate him. It was unfortunate timing to say the least.

And to make it worse every school is now paying players legally, with practically no controls that I am aware of.

So we wasted 4 years of basketball excellence because of Alleva then Woody's ego and now we might not make the NIT first year of Coach Mac, we have got to be the biggest joke of an athletic administration to exist in major collegiate athletics

IMO. Ncaa stuff is settled by the end of this season or early this offseason. McMahon gets next year. If we look terrible in sec play and recruiting is in the shitter (like this year) I think he’s gone. If we get close to .500 and recruiting is on the upswing then he gets another season

I agree with this. You can’t fire him one season in with the NCAA stuff unsettled (unless he does something improper). It’s a really bad look and digs us deeper into a hole.

I understand that football is king at LSU, but if Wade recieves no show cause, and we end up reliving the Saban situation in basketball, it won't be as pleasant for him as it could have been had he weatherd the storm with Wade, and then Wade going on to have a Scott Drew type tenure at LSU.

It is insane the levels at which you Wade stans massively overrate him as a coach. He was a very good recruiter, but he was just above average as a bench coach. He’s not Drew and he isn’t on the same fricking planet as Saban in ANY regard.
