I summed that up in a previous post...
It's not the same, but given an exciting game, I feel the fans that do show can still make a lot of noise.

That and people generally suck these days. I think that sums it up.

Yes, I think this could be part of what Anthony meant--the players & fans prefer the atmosphere of a night game at Tiger Stadium.

I posted this in a another thread. This seas has been a perfect storm of a bad home schedule, under performing opponents (AU-UF), crappy weather for SEC games, construction in and around campus, and zero build up or anticipation for any home games except A&M.

If we have to give up our night games for the honor of the 2:30 broadcast, can we at least get TV announcers who won't openly root against us and call out our fans? I thought the stadium was much more electric than what is being suggested, and I was melting in the SEZ and don't blame anyone for seeking relief in the concourses.

Anthony Johnson must not have noticed how hot it was out there.
If he had realized that the temperature was in the 80s then he would understand.

Perfect storm of excuses.

I live in Texas and know LOTS of Aggies who've acquired tickets to the A&M game thru ebay, craigslist, and stubhub. They have money and look to be road tripping for that game.
Hopefully they'll witness JFF getting crushed by the LSU D and Mett & Co lighting their D's arse up.

I'm not saying this is the entire reason, but I think a big reason is Alabama fatigue. Obviously they have won three of the last four BCS titles. The "Mulligan" of 2011 and their quick move back up to the top two after losing to aTm last year combined with the release of the 2013 "bridge" schedule (which was tailor-made for Bama to have a cake walk into the BCSNCG) has made LSU fans wary of becoming excited about the season. We all know that no matter what happens, EVEN IF LSU BEATS ALABAMA ON THE FIELD, it won't count. Bama will get another chance. LSU did everything right in 2011. Still got screwed. Fans are just a bit gun shy while Alabama is still a viable option for the BCSNCG. It's difficult to get excited when you know that Bama will get all of the advantages and favoritism.
Holy crap. Our fanbase is now completely worthless.
We can't get up for the Florida game in 2013 because we got screwed by Alabama in 2011?
Wow.

I have been an LSU fan all my life. I used to listen to games on the radio as a little kid back in the early 80's. I bleed purple and gold.
If I lived in Louisiana, I would have season tickets. As it is, I go to at least one LSU game a year, either home or away. I can say this: The current iteration of fans filling Tiger Stadium are pretty pathetic.
LSU fans need to man up and stop being a bunch of prima donnas.
Excuses:
Rain
Cold
Sun
Heat
Lines
Traffic
Can't buy beer
Cost
TAF
Piped in music
Day Games
Late night games
Sleepy
Tired
Not Drunk
Too Drunk
Here is the truth. LSU fans are by and large a bunch of drunks who want to socialize at their tailgate, eat food, drink alcohol and PRETEND to be football fans. That's what we are now.
Sure, we can get 70,000 Tiger fans in Tiger Stadium to make noise, but there are 20,000 who just don't want to fool with it anymore. The Auburn game was embarrassing. The Florida game was a joke.
Make all the excuses you want. LSU fans now are completely spoiled.

it's not loud. Remember the UGA game? That was loud as frick! Penn State White out was very loud. Maybe it's the bandwagon fans who think they've done enough buying the tickets. Man these games were rocking just in 2011. What in the hell happened?

If Freak wants people to show up like they did when Dorsey played, he needs to play a little more like Dorsey.

going to be sad when A&M wins in front of a half A&M crowd since LSU fans thought it was too cold to go.
Pathetic that Tiger Stadium has come to this. Unreal

every one remember when we used to have night games and it was loud and good atmosphere and now we have day games

The night games have been nothing special this year either.
