Well we haven’t beat Saban in 8 years, we’ve scored 10 points total in the last 3 years against him, and last year Bama shut Burrow out in Death Valley. We won’t be ranked above them until we beat them, as it should be.

they destroyed a powerhouse like Tech 38-14

The same powerhouse that took us deep into Q4 at Tiger Stadium last year with a three-point margin.

You’ll see a bad arse defense that you’re not used to.

In 2018 Ga's defense was better than LSU's. Texas' young offense had no problem with it. Texas' 2018 offensive leaders will all be on the field Saturday.

I've told a few of them that if they are going to hang their hat on the win over UGA, they need to do their homework and watch what LSU did to them.

In 2018 we beat Ga at Tiger Stadium.

Texas beat Ga at a neutral site.

Comparing 2018 games is pointless anyway. In 2019 La Tech > Ga Southern.

Texas players have a reason to feel confident, they beat Ga. last year.

And last year LSU was beating Tech 24-21 going into 4Q in Baton Rouge, while Texas was beating Tech 38-0 this year heading into 4Q in Austin.

UF, LSU, AU and BAMA (of course if available). all 4 have made at least 2 natty games the last 11 years.

Interesting choice with “11 years.” The last 6 years, FL and LSU have been 0 years, Bama 3 (maybe 4), and Auburn 1 (maybe 2).

It’s more accurate to say that for teams that made the natty game over the last 11 years, Saban’s players made it 6 times (maybe 7). Urban’s made it 3 times (maybe 4). Auburn made it 2 times (maybe 3). And LSU w/o Saban players made it 1 time.

Only 4 active HCs have won natties and Jimbo is one of them. Both A&M and Jimbo are no fools here. If anyone ever offers you $70-80M and they’re not in a cartel, my advice to you is be your definition of a “fool” and take it.

Didn't stop Auburn this year

Oh, I thought the OP was asking about whether LSU, not Bama’s in-state rival, would be in the playoffs in the next two years. Auburn maybe. LSU no.
They haven’t paid him. And if they do, it will be far less than owed—will be a nuisance settlement.

I don’t think you’re grasping the kinds of money we’re talking... it severely skews relativity

TAMU’s endowment is $11 billion. LSU’s is around 6% of that.

Jimbo won the natty w his players

Les won the natty w Saban’s players
Jimbo is the 9th winningest active coach. And one of only four w a natty
In Texas public universities can’t be sued for failing to pay a buyout. They’re unenforceable against the school. See Mike Leach’s poured out suit against Texas Tech.

TAMU is absolutely flush with oil and gas money. This is peanuts.
He removed the "bitch" label that both Arky and Ole Miss had constructed around our necks under Les.

He shutout Saban three quarters, which no one has ever done.

And he would've beat Wisky and Auburn.

Most HCs go soft when they get the big payday. O loves Louisiana and only gets the big payday thru incentives (winning).

Support him. If he doesn't produce, by all means let it rip.

In the last 10 LSU-Bama meetings...

LSU led at the end of the Q4 in exactly one of them.

Since Bama hired Saban, every single SEC school has fired at least one head football coach

There are only two ways to overcome the Saban hegemon:

1. He leaves Bama (retires, heads to NFL or another school), OR

2. We hire a killer offensive-minded HC (Chip Kelly, Petrino, Briles, Herman) or OC (keep Coach O and spend $2M on an OC.

We will not overcome Saban by out-D'ing him. We have to open up the offense--that is what will attract QBs to LSU.

Bingo. Texas D is regressing. And they're stacked.

Look at years 2-3 for Harbaugh, Meyer, Herman, Peterson and you'll know why a wealthy, tier 1 program in a talent rich state is getting impatient. It was their "patience" with Mack Brown in the last years that largely created the need for the steep rebuild.

You're an idiot if you think it would end up being who could outspend the other. You think LSU couldn't pony up just as much as UT? Of course we could, because there is a market value for coaches, and no one is going to pay a coach 30 million a year.

Wrong. The real $ for the Texas HC is not in their contract. If they win, the oil guys become their buddies and cut the HC into all kinds of deals. Dwarfs the coaching contract $
If Red McCombs ran Texas, Mack Brown would still be coaching. He's senile
