Fear of players transferring to places like LSU definitely a consideration.

If they start in October what would be the point of cancelling? Lol. The cases have been lower since they cancelled.
Also if they start somewhere in October. IMO everyone will follow and play later. Atleast I think NCAA will make us. But if we can get big 10 that would make it feel more like a season if you know what I mean.

I understand the logic. It’s the same plan that college basketball is proposing. Pretty much every school plans to finish the last couple weeks of the semester remotely after Thanksgiving to avoid people traveling back to campus from all across the country. So once colleges go remote, you can create a bubble of sorts for student athletes on campus.

Holding these kids hostage so when they say "we couldnt make it work" in November, it's too late for transfers.

This is terrible news. There will be talks about the other conferences compromising and pushing the season back further. Then, sometime in October, they will say "we tried but we just can't do it."

Big Ten thought everyone would follow them with cancelled seasons.
That failed, and it's an awful look. They don't lead college football.
Now they seek redemption by having everyone follow their post-T-Day delayed season.
frick them. The SEC leads college football.

This is a 100% a ploy to try to pressure the other conferences to push back their starts. Only to have the Big Ten cancel again a week before the new season date.

They can do whatever the hell they want. To borrow a quote from Bo Schembechler, toe meets leather on 9/26 in the SEC.

That's all a fricking joke. It's purely political they are waiting for Nov 3 results.

Just make it f*cking obvious -- first game on November 4th.

This is disaster management. They are trying to find a way back in without looking like idiots. That big ten Commish is holding on for his job

Big 10 is going to play a 6 game conference only season in January and OSU is going to win it and claim a natty.

The presidents of those schools want to affect normalcy there as much as possible to point the finger at Trump. Obama has his hands in this too.
They’re fine with football, just after the election.

The freedom of information requests that come out of those committee meetings are going to be glorious. They’re terrified to release them.

Players will not have time to rehab minor injuries or prepare for draft with such a late season
