Yeah okay.

Can we pay him a consulting fee? A 24/7 365 consulting fee.

Ok if he does.

Would immediately subdue the screaming knotheads but realistically, he would only be expected to coach 2-4 years.

Prefer we find the 'next Saban' rather than the old Saban.

I have an unpopular opinion too. I actually didn't like Saban when he was in Baton Rouge. I didn't appreciate his worth ethic at the time, all I saw was a petty man that couldn't celebrate a championship with the team. Now after all the Bozos we've had I would gladly take him back even if for a couple years. Hell the Bama melt alone would be worth it.

Because college football isn't what it use to be. Which is why Saban is no longer coaching.

I have no want or desire for a coach who is as old as he. Let him be a retiree in peace. Extremely short sighted if we all feel like he’s the right guy.

He was, not is.

We need a younger guy who can relate with athletes and parents. And we need the people at the top to stay in their lanes, and let these guys do what we pay them to do.

Nick Saban is the best of all time. So if he wanted, you have to say yes. But the reality is, he's 74 years old, and it doesn't seem to work often when someone comes out of retirement to coach. If it were anyone else, I'd say hell no. The only reason I wouldn't be upset is b/c it's Saban.

With that said, my preferred/realistic choice would be someone who would be here for 10+ years, so we don't constantly go through turnover. Give me someone who has us competing for the playoffs every year in mid-November, makes the playoffs 3 out of 4 year,s and will eventually get the title. It isn't realistic for us to want 2-3 titles every 10 years, like some here think should happen. I just want to be playing meaningful football in January just about every year.

I have mad respect for Nick and did throughout his tenure at bama, even as the sports enemy. However, I really don’t think he’s what we need as the HC at this stage. Now, pay him big as a consultant exclusive to LSU, I’m all for that.

I see people speculating that Saban quit because of recent changes in how the college football system is played today. That would be the equivalent of just giving up because of defeat. I don't see Saban as that kind of a guy. People that say this are mostly just projecting their own insecurities about the changes onto him.

Maybe the real reason Saban quit coaching was because he could no longer perform up to his own standards because of his age. Some people can see that in themselves and have pride in the job that they do.

Father Time is the real undefeated.
