Unlikely Hypothetical: If LSU wins the SEC b-ball tournament

What if LSU wins SEC tourney? Then they get a 15 or 16 seed and go on a miraculous run as the first ever 16 seed to make a Final Four. Then they hang on to win the national championship?!

Then what if Joe Alleva gets fired and LSU gets Mark Emmert back as his replacement. Then he goes on to get Nick Saban back here to end his career with 15 consecutive titles and then we hire Joe Maddon and Terry Francona to joint-manage the baseball team?!

AND THEN YOU GET SUPERPOWERS AND A GENIE TO GIVE YOU 3 WISHES AND YOU WIN A BILLION DOLLARS?!

I didn't read the thread. The chances of this team winning 5 games against 5 teams better than them in 5 days is borderline insane.

Last year, Holy Cross went to the NCAA tourney with a losing record. During each of the last five years, a team with a losing record has made the tournament.

It is a long shot but not that farfetched.

If this happens, I'll not only pay for Jones's salary next year myself and double it, but I'll chop off my wife's hand and let you jerk off with it.

I think I'm safe.

It's an extremely long shot. And it IS far fetched.

LSU isn't Holy Cross. We've lost to 5 SEC teams with a losing conference record. Also with nearly all of them having zero top 25 wins.

You know what? Why the frick am I even responding to this?

I still support the retention of Coach Jones for reasons I have already set out, but I realize that only about 5 posters share that opinion.

OP has to be either JJ or his family. These 2 threads are insane.

No, LSU has already recently botched the firing of one coach based on emotion and hired his replacement mostly based on emotion.

There is no light at the end of the Jones tunnel. (There wasn't much of one when he was mistakenly hired in the first place). Miraculously winning the SEC tournament is the equivalent of him finding a sparkler on the way to the end of that tunnel. The light fizzles out quick.

Unrelated, but what a score to hold the "LSU" name - I assume you are one of the first members.

I really don't think Coach Jones is as bad as everyone thinks - I think it is a player problem. But, I admit that it is getting harder and harder to defend my position. I want this team to regoup and I'm trying to be a positiger.

Jones can won the tournament then win the ncaa title and those same people will still be calling for his head. Same people saying Brady would win 20+ games with this roster, same people who said Simmons was better than Heild same people who....well you get the point by now. They are worse than the fire les crew.
It's going to be funny when CJJ is here to tip it off next season.

Some believe that there are alternative universes where every possibility occurs.

This is one possibility that won't occur in any universe!!

If we won a game in the tournament I'd buy some lottery tickets and snort some coke off some nasty stripper's arse while playing Poker with Tupac, Shaq and Mike the Tiger

I wouldn't be surprised if JJ said F it and just let the team stay home like he did with the NIT bid last year

ONLY way I could accept Jones being retained, is to not only win the SEC tourney, but then also make a run to the Final Four; and even then, they'd have to lose a nail biter to the eventual champ.
ANYTHING else, and he has to go. HAS to go.

How bad is it going to suck once Jones is fired and your troll threads don't have the spotlight anymore.

What type of antagonist position will you take then to go against the mainstream of thought to stick out?
