I got MSY to AUS months ago for $132 round trip. Not direct, just a quick stop in HOU (still beats driving for me)

Oregon vs Auburn in Dallas:
Flight from Eugene offered. Nothing from Alabama.

Via Airlines had a direct flight up until recently. I took it a couple of times for business. It was CHEAP. I guess it was too cheap. They no longer fly into either Austin or Baton Rouge.
that went away already?

I'm sure UAL wasn't interested in competing with Delta offering a shitload of ATL-DFW flights, likely at a better price. SWA too, ATL-DAL.

If we lose that game would rather the 737 max 8 return flight

7500? It’s 3000

Correct.

Not sure where the prior poster got the 7500 number, but it’s been well-established that the number is 3000-3500.

My TAF priority point rank is in the Top 250, and it’s looking extremely unlikely that we’lll even get a pair.. i’ve been told that only Top 100 donors will get tickets, and those will be tip-top of the stadium, in direct sunlight.... My only hope is that we return the favor to UT next year when they play in Baton Rouge.

United to offer direct BTR-->AUS flight for Texas gameOn sale now on united.com. $333 roundtrip, surprisingly cheap:

JUST IN: @United, for the first time, offering college football fans non-traditional point-to-point, nonstop routes for games this season, including Baton Rouge to Austin for LSU-Texas and Columbus to Lincoln for Ohio State-Nebraska.

Boeing 737 Max jets grounded by FAA emergency order

President Donald Trump announced an emergency order from the Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday grounding Boeing 737 Max jets in the wake of an Ethiopian Airlines crash Sunday and a Lion Air accident in October that together killed 346 people.
Trump's announcement came as the FAA faced mounting pressure from aviation advocates and others to ban flights of the planes pending investigations into the deadly accidents.

Sunday's crash killed 157 people, and the one in Indonesia in October killed 189.

These jets are not structurally sound aircraft.

Determine if these are jets United Airlines is currently willing to incorporate into their fleet of active commercial aircraft / passenger jets.

My roundtrip flight from Boston was less than $225.

So you’re telling us that the flight leaving from an airport that has 3 daily direct flights offered by different airlines was cheaper than a route created specifically to fill a niche demand? That strains credulity.

United grounded its 737-MAX9 aircraft... they don't have any 737-MAX8 in its fleet.

Unless UT is moving the visitor seating specifically for this game, LSU’s seats will be in the upper deck of the north end zone. They’re not the greatest seats, but they are hardly the “tip-top” of the stadium. Since the game is at night, the sun should only be a factor for a short while.

Depending on when you leave, it’s only a 6.5 hour drive with one stop. Not bad of a drive at all.

Yeah it’s not bad to do it once. After making it a few times you’d rather just fly

Problem is you get to Houston in a blink and you think you’re almost there, then you realize there’s another 3-4 hours from there
