He played very well at Clemson and analysts were gushing at his control of the offense. He looked like a pro out there.

It was a bad week, he’ll be ok.

People are genetically predisposed with a "fight or flight" nature. Aggression or submission when physically challenged. It was obvious re Burrow and Daniels and it is obvious re Nuss. I doubt that coaching will change gut instincts, when decisions are made in nano seconds. Is what it is.

You must have not watched last weeks game then.

Yes I watched it . He ran once on a designed run and looked uncomfortable as hell doing it. He picked up the first but I thought he was going to tear something with that slide.

The progress is that he has a great defense to work with.

I see what you’re saying. Yes, I have no idea why he refuses to run. He could have scrambled several times last night. I was thinking about cutting down on the picks. He did underthrow Brown on the tipped ball pick last night.

You can't have a QB who's afraid to tuck it and run for easy first downs.

On which play/plays did he fail to gain a 1st down with his arm instead of using his feet? The TD pass to Anderson? You guys are insufferable.

Nuss has to run or they will drop 7-8 into coverage all year.

People forget Burrow didn’t arrive until the fall his first season. Nuss has been at LSU for 5 years, he is who he is.
agreed. Translation: Nuss really shouldn’t be in contention for the Heisman and likely the team won’t compete for a natty. They may (better) get in the playoffs but are not capable of making it very far if the whole offense, especially the oline and Nuss don’t improve significantly.

I'm hoping what we saw last night was a case of us playing down and is not what we are when we play against other "good" teams.

I had hoped after the Clemson game that what I saw in Nuss, a slight improvement in his field vision and movement was going to increase.....it went backwards last night. I hope he gets motivated by the sloppy win and turns it on against UF.

There was a third down play in the second half he rolled to the right and had 20 yds of green and he tried to throw it to the back corner of the endzone to a reciever who was completely covered from the time the ball was snapped.

It wasnt a pick but he cost the team a first down and stalled the drive.

There were other spots also that he could have picked up chunk yardage.

Looks he doesn't have to be Daniels and take off and rush for 100 yes a game but damn he has to be smart enough to take what the defense gives instead of constantly trying to force balls into places they shouldn't be. He would have had at least 1-3 more picks against an SEC defense lastnight.

He also absolutely sucks at passes deeper than 20 yards. Example, the under thrown pick, Brown was wide arse open and he just underthrows it. Later similar play and he over throws Brown(i believe it was) by 5-10 yards. He's so inconsistent with the deep stuff, the better defenses will take away the screen game and intermediate shite and he won't be able to connect on the deep shot and the offense will stall, but everyone will be up in arms blaming Sloan, when the fact is, Nuss aint that good

Clemson's defense is bad, and yesterday just proved it.

In the 3rd Quarter, LSU was on the 40 or so yard line. It’s 2nd and 10. Nuss rolls left. There was nothing but grass in front of him for 30 yards. He easily could have run for 15-20 yards without anyone touching him. Instead he throws into the end zone to a heavily covered WR. Ball almost gets intercepted. We don’t pick up the first down on 3rd & 10. We settle for a FG.

The third an 8 (not sure of down-and-distance) where he tried to force the ball into the corner of the north end zone. He could have done cartwheels for an easy first down; there was no one within 20 yards of the east sideline. He may have been able to take it to the house because that side of the field was so wide open.

Last night'd game is a case in point. Wow he just cannot learn. Could have gotten some good yards a few times running but refused.
