As long as we avoid their basketball team.

I think we should give them a couple of series with LSU - S and then revisit the merits of this complaint…
I know you're joking, but they would skullfrick LSU-S

I feel sorry for this northern programs that can’t play at home until April. The sport has a problem and just keeps ignoring it.
No one is ignoring the problem. There’s just no way to change the climate in the north in February/march

They got drug by decent teams and you left that out. Oregon St showed them the path. Go on the road and get beat and the committee will give you an undeserving top 8 seed when they screwed Coastal Carolina. Losing to P4 teams on the road is HOW YOU GET A HIGHER RPI
It’s not even P4 teams. It’s Q1 teams. A Q1 home game is against a top 25 RPI team. A Q2 road game is top 60. A Q2 neutral game is top 40. Oregon St only played 19 home games so they didn’t need to play good P4 teams on the road, just a bunch of top 60 teams on the road. It worked. They had a pretty good record and picked up a ton of cheap RPI points. A lot of college basketball mid majors do stuff like this too. College baseball coaches need to follow OSU’s lead.

LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee, Vandy, and Texas should all schedule weekend series back to back with UCONN.
It's pretty much what happened with Xavier.
They finished with a top 40 RPI because of it too. Figured having the balls to schedule like that may have been enough to get them a bid even since they did well in conference (beat 1st place UCONN in a conference series) but committee didn’t appreciate their overall record apparently, 32-27.

I mean, you don’t want to have a series loss to Connecticut
The great news is you get to watch all the good teams with no stress for the next few weeks.

SEC teams don’t want or need a series win over UConn on their resume. Does not help them,

UCONN came down and played a series against SLU a few years back to open the season and got beat 2/3.

UConn didn’t even make the tournament. Why would a SEC school schedule a mid major cupcake team like UConn b/c they are talking smack.
Posted on 5/28/25 at 8:33 am to nicholastiger
There are 8 SEC teams hosting regionals, 13 SEC teams in a regional.. But yes we are scared to schedule UCONN.
I understand what the coach is doing.. He has to boost up his team up, but yeah no one in the SEC is scared of them.

Problem is they didn’t win any of those games. Lost to us, Tennessee and got swept by Vandy. Scheduling those games is great but you have to win one or two of them.

They shouldnt get a participation trophy just for scheduling the games. They actually have to win some.

I would love to play a series with Uconn at home in Feb or early March.
