He was unreal in that A&M game. The diving interception and the strip for a touchdown was next level stuff.

Dude was just born to play football.

There might not be a more literally true statement to make about him. In everything that makes one a great football player besides size, strength and speed, he might legitimately be the most gifted in human history. And his speed and strength were pretty competitive even among the elite athletes of the NFL. Still would love to have seen what his hand-eye coordination could have done at the plate with a bat in his hand.

And I would be shocked if anyone ever put up a highlight reel that could compete. His ability to make just jaw-droppingly entertaining plays on the regular was absolutely unmatched. Down the stretch in '11 it seemed legitimately disappointing if he got near the ball and didn't make some crazy play.

The OG Honey Badger.

One of the (unfortunately) rare redemption stories.

Kicked off the team, took accountability, quickly matured and became an multi-time All-Pro player and member of the All-Decade team, will likely be an NFL HOFer, and NEVER was bitter towards LSU.

Aside from Daniels and Burrow, there hasn't been a more individually impactful player for LSU in the last 25+ years.

I swear I was just thinking about this today or yesterday thinking about how much pain that guy must be in after 12 years of banging is 175 pound body all over the place.

And all decade player and three all pros I gotta assume he's HOF maybe not first or second ballot but soon enough.

His sophomore year highlight reel dwarfs most people's entire career

Getting old, I was in the same freshman class as him and by far my favorite player during my time at LSU. What a blessing it was to watch him

Hope to see him on the LSU sidelines again soon

Not sure if discussed yet but he has openly talked about wanting to coach after football if over. I normally hate the player X was a great football player so he would make a great coach idea. Just think another subpar year of Olsen and I'd be ready to risk it for Honeybadger.

One of the best to ever do it at LSU! Completely took over games. Would have likely had a chance for a Heisman if not the off field troubles.

Random question because I don't care enough about the NFL to know its inner workings, but why do many NFL players retire before a season starts, and not at the end of a season or that previous season?

The greatest defensive player I ever saw at LSU. I am proud of the man he has become more though. I loved him at LSU, but was afraid he was heading the wrong way when he was dismissed from the team. He has worked hard, with the help of others like PP, to get on the right path as a man. I would love for him to find a role with the team, but will continue to root for him whatever his endeavor's may be.

he just had a kid with his 3rd or 4th baby mama over the weekend. So maybe he just wants to be a dad

I will never forget just focusing on him when he was on the field at LSU. You just knew you were about to watch a sack, strip fumble, interception, td, or several of the above.
I have never focused on just watching a db since. Thanks for the memories Tyrann!

Dude was robbed of his Heisman, best defensive player I have ever seen, luck maybe but he was in the right spot at the right time and came out with the play more times than I have ever witnessed. 8 tackles for loss, 9 passes defended, 2 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 5 fumbles returned, 2 fumbles returned for TD, 2 punt returns for TD… dude was electric and even though those stats are insane he was better then the stats it was wild.

He was absolutely dynamic in a stingy and aggressive year for college football.
