Ok as we all know Tyler Shelvin has been maligned in the past on this board, and rightfully so. When you are a 5star recruit coming out of high school, you should be ready to play the first snap of your freshman year. Not that you will, but you should be in game shape and ready to rock & roll if called upon. I know we all heard when he first got here that he couldn’t be blocked with one guy and he was also blowing up double teams.
Well Tyler Shelvin was a beast on Saturday, and was one of the keys to the win. He couldn’t be blocked with one guy and was beating double teams. He relentlessly was playing in the Gator backfield disrupting plays all night long!
It was a long couple of year wait, but damn am I glad he is a Tiger! He was a beast Saturday night!
Tyler, keep it up! Continue to be that disrupt-able force in the middle of the line as our defensive front feeds off of your beast mode nature you are showing.

I was nervous when he was injured, could have been a season changer.

Might turn out to be similar to that beast that played nose guard for Bama a few years back.

He’s turning into a Dorsey style game changer

I knew he looked massive Saturday night, so I looked at his stats on the roster. 364 lbs of much a man, he is a beast

The Fla center is glad that game is over. He could not handle Shelvin one on one.

I heard that UF center is in therapy today complaining about the “bad man abusing me” from his arse whoopin on Saturday.
Shelvin made that boy his bitch all night

I think this is proof that it takes more time to develop interior defensive linemen and offensive linemen than any other positions. You just aren’t strong enough at 18 to compete against grown arse men who have been moving weights for 2-3 years longer than you.

Take a walk down memory lane and ask yourself if when you were 18 years old were all your friends and yourself on the same maturity level? Just because he was a 5 star dosent mean he’s is ready day one physically or mentally.
The best example I can give you is that I played D2 college football and out of every player that was on the same team as me for five years, the best Qb, best strong safety, and best WR I knew all never played one down of in the games, he’ll never made the roster because they were so immature, could not go to class, qb would go to practice drunk and still make plays. (These guys we’re all spring time players, never made fall rosters)

Bump
This guy is becoming a HUGE problem for Offensive lines. Nothing blows up a play like pressure right up the middle. Keep it up Big Fella!!

I think Shelvin has become a difference maker and I think Ika is taking notes. Glad we got both of them.

If Shelvin stays one more year, big if though, and stays healthy I think he becomes a first round prospect.

Ika spelled him a few times against Florida and I thought Shelvin looked a lot fresher for it.
The more Ika can play, the better. We could be getting healthy at the right time.

I would rather his weight at 325lbs, he would be so explosive off the line he would never be solo blocked. His lower body strength is so strong that it wouldn’t make a difference on the interior either.

Love it but I still would like to see him drop 15 more pounds to see just how much more shop he could wreck at 335 lbs.
I am not so sure that he should be that small. I like that he is a massive mass of man collapsing the middle of the line. If anything, maybe just lose about 10-15 pounds and get down to about 350. Wouldn't want to see him below 345. Looks like he is just a huge dude who is always going to carry some weight.
