Well, back home again after another successful road trip- our away rooting record is unblemished still. Going to Gainesville next week to keep the record intact. As far as our game with the Gumps, here are my observations:

1. Coleman is an aircraft hangar with bleachers, and is the source of a lot of controversy at Bama. They are talking about spending over 100 million to renovate it instead of starting from scratch. For now, a 5 star pressure washer is their most urgent need. Maybe Saban can locate one in Amite.
2. Our Tigers played their typical clawing, scratching, hustling game, and really looked poised, especially Skylar. What an advantage to have such a bright, reliable guy with the ball in his hands at crunch time.
3. The hate that the opposing crowd directs at your coach is directly proportional to how good you are. Will got a lot of hate directed at him, so we must be pretty good.
4. Javonte’s steal of the rebound from behind the back of the Bama player with about 3 minutes left was huge, and you could hear the crowd’s reaction.
5. Marlon’s rebound and stuff was metaphysical. It was like “well now that I’ve got the rebound, and I’m still hanging around up here at the rim, so I think I’ll go ahead and stuff it.” Crowd went “ oooooooooohh”
6. As to Tre’s steal that lead to the alley oop to Skylar off the backboard, at altitude in the stands, you could see the whole thing coming. He broke on the ball much like a cornerback that sniffed out a sideline pass. Once he started down the court, he and Skylar made eye contact and we knew what was coming. That broke their back even though the Gumps managed to hit on two 3 point prayers after that.
7. A well fed female Gump sitting next to me said “well, yaaalll got us in basketball but we got you in foooootball.” I told her that was about to change also, and she seemed confused.
8. Went to Dreamland BBQ the night before the game and ate some pretty good ribs.
9. This was a good trip and that’s a tough environment to win for a visitor. Folks, we’ve got some real scrappers on our team.

I made the trip with my daughter and had the same experience. Except I didn’t have any Bama fans taunt us about FB.

We also went to Dreamland the night before. Glad we went because of the reputation, etc, but the ribs were just OK for my taste.

Some of the "Get off my lawn!!" folk (presumably the same ones who sit and golf clap whenever a top 5 team comes into the PMAC) were complaining about this play. Those are the types of plays that bring hype to your program and gets recruits excited. As long as it's not malicious taunting, I say keep on doing it.

Thanks again for the excellent recap. I always enjoy reading them.

Smart’s steal was huge and got little praise. Tigers playing to win. Gumps not paying attention.

We sat next to the students section Q. That was a sad bunch. FBI and lock him up chants were comical. Talked to a Attendent. Super nice. Asked about football but mainly asked how excited we were with basketball. I liked Coleman.

Dreamland isn't what it use to be. Very average now.

I’ve been 5/6 times over last 20 years. It’s always been average.

Too many LSU fans don't know what a subpoena is, how can you expect a gump yo know.

I went to lunch at Dreamland in Birmingham a few years ago and the ribs were incredible. Never been to Tuskaloosa

relax, our students would do the same to them, if the situation was reversed.

Nothing is going to change until the abysmal coaching/recruiting situation changes in the OL and DL.

LSU doesn't have enough quality DMDL's (Difference Maker Defensive Linemen) and OL's that can pass block. (And they didn't fix this deficiency in recruiting either)

That's a big dose of reality for all the delusional Pump Lumps to comprehend.

I’ve never personally been but I’ve always been told Archibald’s is way better than Dreamland. Every time I’m down there I forget about it. I really need to go there next time.
