I was just watching highlights of the 49ers vs Raiders at Allegiant Stadium and holy shite the grass field (turf) looked like utter garbage. Might be a storyline in the game on Sunday…

I believe they have multiple surfaces they can put in.

They will probably use the turf field

Natural grass sucks

Artificial turf sucks

Let’s just get these excuses out of the way

LSU practices on artifical turf indoors. It's faster but falls hit harder.

Real grass is softer and slower.

I'll take our guys burning USC indoors.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration. It was moderately worn/brown between the hashes, but not horrible overall. Perhaps because it was a preseason game they didn’t want to do a ton of work until after the game. It’s playable. “Utter garbage” would be the 2009 Citrus Bowl vs Penn St.

Allegiant has same track system as Phoenix that the field is moved outside to get sunlight because Raiders prefer natural grass.

UNLV uses artificial turf.

That wasn't so much a field as a cow pasture.

With our game in prime time and being the “Kickoff Classic” a new field or turf will be installed…. Next question

It’s 105. The water probably evaporates before it hits the grass.

From what I’ve seen only the raiders play on the grass. All others use the field turf.

That field took away LSUs speed advantage. Just simple as that.
