Bottom Line - what have you done for me lately. With Saban taking BAMA to where they are - all in 2 seasons, Tuberville was doomed by the Auburn fans (or so called fans.) It didn't help his case for doing some pretty stupid things....the cigar smoking, dancing on opposing opponents mid-field and holding up their fingers last year at the BAMA game signaling 6 - six straight wins. That being said, he was a hell of a competitor and was fun to play against and hate! He got the shaft.

he would be an idiot to go to MSU...take a year off with that buyout and wait for better jobs to open up next year.

as far as Auburn's decision, probably not a bad one. he really screwed up with the Franklin mess and potentially set the program back several years. I'm sure Jacobs ask him what his recovery plan was, and wasn't impressed with what he heard.

I think that's stupid, no way Muschamp walks away from one of the all-time great programs for that circus.

Muschamp will not stay at Texas for 10 years waiting on Mack Brown to leave. If you are good enough, you'll go out and find another head coaching job, and then you have experience being a head coach when Texas comes calling.

Mack Brown is not about to retire anytime soon.

One thing common in Alabama is that the apple does not fall far from the tree. AU will regret this knee jerk reaction. I believe AU & UA both have pennis envy. It will not be long before all of Bama is left out in the cold starting next year.

This is easily the best news I've heard all day unless it's followed by a "Auburn hires Mike Leach" thread.

Fisher wouldn't surprise me though. I sat in a skybox at the 03 SECCG with a big Auburn booster and Fisher's wife and father (or father in law, not sure) came through and were hugging necks like crazy. The guy told me he wanted Fisher to be the next head coach at Auburn (before jet gate)

Leach at Auburn next year could easily equal RichRod at Michigan this year...

winning 82% of your games is just unacceptable.

tubs won 84% of his games in his last four seasons prior to this season

68% overall at auburn
65% overall (auburn and ole miss)
63% sec at auburn (2 6 loss seasons first and last)
56% sec overall

without those two 6 loss seasons he wins 73% of sec games at auburn

i just think that 7-3 vs your biggest rival earns you at least one mulligan

While I understand the Aubby fans' frustration over the way their season went, firing Tubby was a big mistake. They just made Saban's job that much easier. How many coaches could come in there and do better than Tubby has done this decade?

he made a huge mistake with the Franklin mess and set the program back a couple of years...he probably doesn't have the fire in his belly to bring it back. Better to cut now than let this fester two more years.

btw...if you pick and choose which stats, games and years you count, every coach wins 80% of their games.
