Losing to LSU is the easiest path to the College Football Playoff for Alabama. The Crimson Tide could then avoid either Georgia or Florida in the SEC championship game

Wow.

Way it should be? Bs

You play 4 top 10 teams and go 3-1, finish 11-1. You telling me that Clemson or OU has a better resume while not playing a single top 10? Bs

actually, I cannot think of anyone.

Because there are none. It would be nice if LSU beat them soundly and removed any doubt.

Let's just agree to disagree - and we will see soon enough. I'm one of the few who thought Les Miles' biggest screw-up was beating his chest about the fairness of a rematch in 2011. A team (no matter how great they are) doesn't deserve to get a rematch against a team in their own conference (and division) when they were beaten in their own stadium.

As hyped as that game was, it ended up being a dud - on many accounts. LSU was not prepared emotionally for the game - everything was in Bama's favor to win the rematch. AND, the general public had such a distain for it that it created the new playoff system, which has its own flaws. NOBODY wants to see two teams in the same conference/division be in the playoffs for a potential "do over".....it is not fair to the other conferences around the country, and minimizes national exposure and overall interest. You can disagree - I'd love to see LSU included if they lose, but it won't happen without a lot of criticism from the OU's and Oregon's and Ohio State's/Penn State's of this world.

At least they are aware of their entitlement.

And they are correct.

Everyone assumes we beat a Tua less bama, that is not a given.

But they can't back in if an undefeated LSU loses to a 1-loss Georgia or 1-loss Florida in the SEC title game.

Yes, they would get LSU's spot.

Remember, in 2011, they openly discussed with Saban on ESPN that if LSU lost to UGA in the SECCG, LSU would not win the right to rematch Bama.

Nope. 12-1 vs. 11-1 with a win on the road and a better overall resume. Bama would not get in over LSU.

It’s easy to see why Saban hates the media

That article is 100% spot on. Bama does not have to beat LSU but LSU doesn't have to beat Bama either. This is where schedule matters. However, it would be if Bama rests Tua, loses to LSU, and then loses the Iron Bowl.

Yep. This game is more than just playoff leverage. It’s played for recruits as well.

How does a one loss Alabama take priority over a one loss Ohio St or Penn St, a one loss Big 12 champ, and a one loss PAC 12 champ?

They most certainly will. Alabama has a trash resume.

See Bama's 2011 resume. Before the bowls, they had only played five teams that were .500 or above, and only three ranked teams. They lost their most important game.

They got in over a conference champ that had beaten 5 top 25 teams at the time.

Bama will get in. They know it, thus this article. This is a very "in your face" admission of what CFB really is now.

Want to know why attendance is down? This article right here is a SOLID summary.

I honestly think Saban realizes that if he loses to LSU without Tua he will have a great argument that his team, when Tua is healthy, deserves to be in the top 4. He would get to skip the SEC championship and still make it in. That puts his team in a great spot.

No. The real shitty thing is, we could beat them in two weeks, then lose the SEC CG and bana would get in OVER us.

Based on the way Auburn's DL played, I don't think that game is a gimme for them on the road.
