Especially given the quality at bats he had all night.

A true head scratcher, especially with Pearson behind him, who looked lost at the plate all night.

I don't mind it, though.

Yeah, I was sure they would walk him and set up a double play possibility.

Yeah. I figured they'd load the bases (walk Frey and Pearson) and pitch to Hernandez (or a PH).

Piglets are trying to figure it out as well.

Absolutely zero upside to pitching to him there. His run means jack shite and you set up the dp. Plus Pearson looked like arse at the plate all night.

DVH has to be kicking himself for that one

Same reason we didn’t bunt Dickinson. Sometimes you do weird shite as a coach.

There were multiple reasons to put him on and zero to pitch to him that I can figure. Genuinely curious on that decision.

Frey went down and got a borderline pitch. Probably were trying to pitch around him.

DVH doesn’t need a reason or an excuse to DVH.

I understand that, but Frey was on fire tonight and as of lately. He was seeing everything really well that they were throwing at him tonight.

Yep I thought they would load the bases as well and pitch to Hernandez. A ground ball by Hernandez is a double play and you out the inning

Like that old saying in boxing. To be the man, you gotta beat the man.
Look, Graeckle was throwing really good stuff, and van horn underestimated 1am Alex Box Stadium.
