Melvin, and TQ were effectively benched after a drop/fumble

Melvin

How exactly is it a blessing?
Are we going to go the moral victory route and say this will make TQ8 work harder and better? Because LSU FB should be light years beyond moral victories.
He was talking about the fact that the fumble came later on the 3 yard line. You are just being a dick bag because you have some animosity or some shite towards TQ. I swear, people must huff aerosol cans and then decide its a good time to post on TD.

Landry didn't play offense his first year. He killed it on special teams, though. He made a circus catch on the first throw of his second year; it was a short out. He made great catches all year long, including one for the ages at Arkansas. I'm sure he dropped one, maybe two, but he never had a drop problem.

Now, OBJ did.

where do you get that someone WANTS him to fail, and against Bama? I am a fan. He's from L.C.
He is from the same side of town, as I am.
AND he blew the catches that would have kept drives alive.
I am not the one who put in Diarse ahead of Quinn later in the season.
A coach made the decision. the coach wants them both to succeed.
I hope he has a great career. He will earn other shots.

Great attitude. He will be just fine and be a four year guy. Excited to see him in the future.

That second pass was garage. That one was on the quarterback. So basically he was benched because he dropped one pass.
To bad Les Miles does not bench other players in different positions so easy.

Yeah, I wish Miles would have adopted this philosophy with the middle linebacker position. Instead we had to watch Welter tackle offensive linemen for half of the season!

If I remember correctly, it was one drive. The second resulted in a muffed punt that LSU recovered deep in Bama territory.
FTR, Cooper dropped more passes that game. Quinn will have a chance to redeem himself. He'll get some looks as the third WR.

Well many Tigers are in the NFL after drops. Trey may turn out to be great. Those two drops were not good, as others have said you make those catches and at least two drives are alive and two or three more minutes are off the clock. Bama has to burn all timeouts while LSU has the ball. I think if he catches one LSU wins, if he catches both I am positive LSU wins.
Having said that doesn't mean Quinn will not be a major contributor this year. He was a true freshman in a pressure situation...passes were not perfect but catchable... you have to help out a struggling QB.

I'll believe this guy is a legit receiver when he stops dropping simple, wide open, short passes in multiple games.

not really, you are going to a team that puts more players in the league than anyone. Youd have to think there are good players that will be in front of you. Put in the work and you will get on the field. You cant be entitled, you have to be willing to be a team player.

He'll get better. He's put on some good weight and Coach Ball will have him on point
Exactly. Landry was barely on the field as a true freshman, and had drops in the early part of the year as a sophomore, but has been clutch ever since then. Some guys have to get adjusted to the game. Take guys like Ermon Lane and Josh Malone (#3 and #4 WRs in the class) from last year and DGB from a few years ago, none looked all that or even close as true freshman. DGB blew up the very next year with 880 yards and 12 TDs.
Now I don't think Quinn does that, but as a slot receiver, and Cam talking about working more quick passes in, I could see him getting 40-50 receptions in 2015. He had trouble with the LBs (who are some big son of a guns in the SEC), so expect him to learn from that.

you guys really just make shite up.
And while i think Miles gave more freedom to chavis, im almost certain hes the one that stepped in and told chavis he had to make a change. The defense was much better for it. You cant have it both ways, either Miles has always been responsible for the defense or he stepped in this season. You cant just pick and choose things you dont agree with and blame miles while not giving him any credit for things dne rt.

I have a feeling he will emerge as our best receiver late in the season. Even over Dural and Dupre. Bold I know, but the kids forreal. Just wait on it
I think he'll be great, and greatly improve, but slow your role playa. I can see him moving to outside WR as a junior and blowing up, but that's after Dural leaves.
Dupre and Dural will be the bigger targets unless injury.

May want to load up on Snicker bars 'cause it might be a long wait for this. DeSean was given a second chance - 11 games later.

Well I dont remember OBJ dropping many
obj struggled big time in 2012. That d was good enough, the offense was in shambles because of the oline shake up and our wrs dropping ball after ball. When the offense finally came around, Chavis prevent d showed up.
