How many players are Kennedy and Stansbury going to let leave Mississippi?
Andre Stringer - Leading scorer at LSU
Johnny O'Bryant - 5 star recruit!
Point is, you never know how these guys are going to turn out. Louisiana has had a few down years recently in basketball

how about turner from the state of alabama. how did grant let him out?
these post are stupid. Johnson did pretty well recruiting last year. he GOT the states best player. The State of MISSISSIPPI BEST player. And one of the better players out of ALABAMA.

This thread is stupid. Yall really don't realize hoe hard it is to recruit players when your new to a program when other coaches have been recruiting those same players for 2-3 years. Also our bball team is the third most liked sport at LSU. So yea. Be a little more understandable

statsheet.com has a collection from various sources where they compile 'top 100' recruits for each year, by state, team, etc.
this uses their #s.
i count 34 'top 100' players, with lsu signing 9.
i also list in parentheses next to the year the out of state 'top 100' guys lsu signed
i realize top 100 isnt the BEST way to go, but if a guy is not on the list it probably at least means that other big schools missed them as well. Guys like antonio hudson, darrel mitchel, tyrus thomas of course had big impacts without making these lists--all LA people for LSU, so im sure non top 100 LA people had impacts at other schools as well)
this leaves out juco guys as well..
john brady (dont have his 1st yeaer, but he had to piece together JUCO scrubs because of the situation)

So Galloway is the only one worthwhile we've missed on, got it.
And he still wouldnt of started this year over Stringer/Dotson

It was obvious last year that Trent valued Turner over the 3 swing players (Brown, Galloway, Williams) from Louisiana. It's also obvious now why. Turner is much better than any of them. He also had 2011 wing John Isaac committed at the time.
The last three seasons are probably the worst 3-year run of basketball talent in Louisiana history. Derenbecker is probably the highest rated player from Louisiana in that span. I like him as a player, but when he's the best your state puts out in three years, that's sad.
Edit to add: This is a completely stupid thread.

basically...and with his uncle being an asst. coach at st. joe's, he was always headed up there i believe
i think markel brown had an offer and will be a nice player when his four years are up, but ralston turner has looked great so far in the same role.....

TJ valued Turner above the other guys. Plain and simple, and the other guys were passed over, including Galloway. People acting like Galloway just went to St. Joe's because of his uncle are out of their mind. The guy wouldn't be going there if he had the opportunity to go a number of other places, which he didn't.
And who can blame him? Turner has the most upside than any other player on our entire team. He's a better player than Galloway, and it's great that he's here.
Anyone questioning TJ's recruiting up to this point has not paid any attention to the actual team or the actual recruiting.
And let's not forget how Dotson is currently playing up to his potential. He was a TJ guy and has been very impressive this year.
Props to Trent, I just don't get the haters.

yea...this thread is pretty dumb....
St. Joe's plays 12th ranked Villanoa tonight at 7:30 on ESPNU if anybody wants to check in on Galloway and Swilling

He can't have 20 players on the roster, and I'm good with the guys we have.

Posted on 12/3/10 at 5:20 pm to Trent
If you would like see what LSU missed out on, Galloway will be playing tonight on ESPNU against Villanova @7:30.

is it really that obvious that he is "much" better 8 games or so into what should be a 4 year career at a school?
settle down guys, settle down

Brady's best teams were built on local guys. Sure, Temple hand-delivered them, but I'd sure as hell prefer Galloway over Dotson, for one.
And Brandon Mitchell, who decommitted when Johnson showed up, would be the best player on this team by far.
I'll admit I'm being a little inflammatory to see what other people think.
Maybe I think bringing in guys from around the state would help beat teams like, I don't know, Nicholls?
