If you want to avoid traffic, just stay until the end of the game.
Did this last night...It didn't work. Traffic being routed downtown was slow as hell, and I'm sure 13th Gate had something to do with it...or not.

I'll echo the notion that parking on the river side of the railroad tracks is a recipe for failure.
I uses to park near the softball park but got tired of being routed toward downtown, which is not where I want to go.
I've started parking behind U-High. The walk is a little further, but when I get to my car I jump right on Dalrymple and am rolling toward I-10 East in no time.

People that bitch about traffic for something they do for fun a handful of times per year are the worst humanity has to offer. STFU or give up your tickets.

I always park on the Dalrymple end, but I feel like Dalrymple hasn’t been flowing good this year. Took me close to 30 minutes to get from lot 207 by the music building to government st. I feel like that traffic circle slows things down significantly

Am I the only one that naps is the backseat until about 1am?
I absolutely would never leave early, but refuse to sit in that traffic mess.
If we got there early enough to get a spot behind the Law School, it was not a problem. We just got on Dalrymple quickly and was on the interstate within 20-30 minutes.

It was bad back in the 70's, 80's, 90's as well. (Even in then Curley years)
We knew it was going to be bad and prepared mentally for it. We were so looking forward to the FOOTBALL GAME in Tiger Stadium, that traffic and parking was just a very minor inconvenience. All we cared about was the game.
LSU football team. LSU fans making a lot of noise with their mouths. Superior GBFTL playing all game.
Now, it's just a Bitch, Moan, Complain and Whine festival after every game. That's what the "New Breed" of LSU fan is all about.
Corporates, Wine & Cheesers, Attention W's and Post NC Newbies don't really care about LSU or LSU football; anything that is a slight inconvenience to them becomes a major problem.
Get there early and park behind the Law School/University High. (You snooze, you lose) Stay until the end of the game. You'll get on Dalrymple quickly and be on I-10 in a few minutes.
OR, set up a mini-tailgate after the game and allow the traffic to subside. Listen to the post-game shows and chill the frick out......

Someone needs to FIGURE IT OUT

People think I’m crazy for parking at the Lakes on Stanford but I’ll take a 30 min walk from my seats to my vehicle. Then another 15 mins from the parking lot to my house over sitting in traffic for an hour plus and a shorter walk to stadium. The contraflow is horrible. Each game it changes. It makes no sense. I have feeling that each cop unit has completely different sets of instructions to follow.

I’ve gone to the Arkansas and Army games and stayed through the alma mater. There was virtually no traffic heading down Burbank.

What I like is when you need to go east on I-12 but they force you to go west and make a u-turn in downtown. Very efficient. Baton Rouge's finest doing work.

100% agree. Traffic has always been bad. I lived in Los Angeles for 5 years. These assholes that go to the games can’t deal with bad traffic for a handful of times per year? It’s the sorriest, weakest, most pitiful excuse I’ve ever heard.

Break out the grill and cook something to eat….an hour after the game ends they shot contraflow down and there is no traffic left. Relax and enjoy the victory.
