You are only looking at the physical capabilities of them.

How many times did Burrow complete a pass, run the offense to the ball being spotted, and call a play to to keep the defense reeling?

How many times did he get a quick snap to catch the defense offsides or or too many players on the field to frustrate the defense?

Burrow's ability to read a defense made him a bigger threat to go along with his accuracy and running ability. Burrow also hit his receivers in stride way more often. They rarely had to slow down to catch a ball.

All that being said, neither are/were easy to plan against.

No disrespect to Jayden as he played a fantastic game but I don't think Burrow loses the Ole Miss game.

How many games you think Burrow win with THIS DEFENSE in 2019? And how many games you think Jayden win with the 2019 defense in 2019?

And you are using 4 years of NFL production to supplement an argument. BTJ is a projected late first round pick just like JJ was, and is keeping pace with
him statistically in his junior year. He is every bit the dawg at the college level that JJ was

How do you come to the conclusion that BTJ isn't on the same level? I'm genuinely curious.

If both had great receivers, i would take Burrow.

Both had great receivers at LSU. Burrow had a great line, and Daniels had a good line. I think there is at least as much raw talent on Daniels' line, but it is younger.

Burrow just didn't make mistakes. He would carve you up if you gave up an inch. He wasn't JD fast, but he had legs when he needed.

I love JD, and this offense has been a treat, but I am taking Jugluar Joe here.

We lead like 20-6 mid way through the second in that game including 2 4th down stops. Defense had depth issues early on in 2019. We had a ton of injuries and issues but that 2019 front 7 was MILES ahead of what we are working with right now.

As "bad" as the 2019 defense was at times I think the unit still finished top 40

I'll have to wait to see what they do in the NFL to judge them. Nabers and BTJ have not had the success against top level corners that Chase had. That might be because Chase had more opportunity. In the NFL they will all have that opportunity. Let's wait to see.

Brian Thomas jr has 4 TDS fewer than Jefferson in 2019 and 6 TDS fewer than Chase.

This is without playing the final regular season game along with all of the playoffs…

IDK the answer to either but the Ole Miss game in particular, we had a 9 point lead with like 8 minutes to go and the offense stalled. Burrow never would have let that happen.

Again, not trying to put down Jayden. He is the best player in college football in 2023 and has had an UNREAL season. BUT Burrow has a killer instinct that most don't have and he would have won that game.

LSU/FSU?

Espn’s scoring summary says we led twice. And it was before halftime.

14-7 and 17-14.

They scored first. We tied. We scored. They tied. We kicked a field goal to end the half.

They tied. Then they kept scoring and we didn’t respond until a garbage time TD with 1:26 left on the clock.

So we went all of the 3rd and most of the 4th scoreless. That’s not the defense.

I love Daniels but I don’t see it playing out like that with 2019 Burrow.

Receivers were dropping passes left and right. Which is another edge for Joe because he has laid into his own players before for stuff like that.

Nope, you might wish I was.

Go watch 2019 again. It seems most of yall forgot how ridiculous that WR duo was IN COLLEGE.

Stats are nice, and again… i love BTJ. The skillset he has now is not on par with Chase and Jefferson in 2019.

I’ll even cede that if BTJ stays for another year in college he could add another piece or two to his skillset and be on PAR with a Nabers, Chase or Jefferson. Today? This year? No, im sorry.

Matter of fact, we watched it NOT happen vs Texas. Burrow and co went score for score with Texas until UT flinched.

Yep. Texas had 530 yards that game. LSU had 573. The defense was bad at the start of the year. They finished well enough but they weren’t doing the offense any favors at the start.

Florida state only put up 494 yards to LSU’s 459.

You’re comparing Brian Thomas to arguably the two best receivers in the NFL and then saying he’s not an alpha

The way Jayden is playing right now ………….Jayden. And only because he is so electric running the football to go along with his incredibly improved passing attack. Burrow is my favorite player ever. He is LSU’s best player ever. Right this second………yeah I think Daniels is harder to defend as contradictory as that sounds.

Burrow, dude took the shitty arse Bengals to a superbowl that should end the conversation about daniels and burrow. Now if daniels goes pro and takes a team like Cleveland to a superbowl then we can revisit
