I loved the Georgia 03 game, and one thing special was winning a day game on national TV, against a top-5 team, in Tiger Stadium!

It seemed as if a multitude of historic jinxs were lifted that day. And the roar that accompanied Mauck-to-Skylar was the loudest I've ever heard, and hasn't been equaled since.

The mood swing in the Georgia gane was like nothing I've experienced.

It was 10-3 late in fourth and then Georgia scored on that 90 yard pass to tailback. It was like a balloon popped on the stadium. All of the energy was ripped away.

Then mauck came right back down field for touchdown

Nope.

Stadium was silent for a second but after the extra point the L-S-U chant started up and the place was rocking through the kickoff when Devery took it out to about midfield.

UF 97 and 07 may be the top two all time, but for a day game, nothing even comes close to UGA 03.

When Skyler caught the game winner, that moment would challenge the loudest moments in TS history no doubt.

Even the pick by Webster to seal it at the end was an ear bleeder.

I was at both the 97 UF and 03 UGA. Both were great but something special happened that afternoon in 2003. It's hard to explain but you could just feel it. No way we were losing. Never will forget the south end zone starting the LSU chant WHILE the Georgia kid was running down the sideline on that long arse screen pass.

This...most surreal sports experience of my life. When people speak of "feeling the energy at an event", this game will go down as off that energy chart.

Yes!!!!
At first glance I picked the '07 game.....
BUT.....
I had the pleasure of meeting Herb Tyler.....
Top 5 QB in LSU history (just my opinion)
I told him that the talent LSU has now (that was 5 years ago) was far superior to his team.
He quickly reminded me of the players on that team!!!!
Best guy you ever want to meet!
A Winner!

Always love this thread. my first memory of an LSU football game is LSU vs Washington in 1983. I was 4 I remember only telling my dad there was so many people and it was loud. ( little did I know) 14 years later I was a senior in high school had a guest student ticket for some reason I decided to pass and go sit with my dad and his company. We ended up rushing the field together an finishing off a 1/5th of crown at mid field. Possibly the best the decision I ever made. That being said the 03 UGA game it's a damn close 2nd. My dad says his is USC 79 it was his and mom's first night out after I was born. Take this post FWIW! GEAUX TIGERS!

97 for me for sure. First game in Death valley. I know... I'm spoiled! That is the reason I'm a tiger fan today. One of my fondest memories with my dad. Last game with him was the Sugar bowl against Illinois. 97 hands down for me!

I was at all of these games less the 03 UGA game. I was at most games from about 1973 through 2001. Some very special moments have happened in Tiger Stadium.

Knew a guy that moved here from Alabama in his early 20s. He grew up a Bama fan and had attended a few games before the 97 game. But, after that game, he became an LSU fan for life and now cheers for the Tigers over the Gumps.

USC '79 was heartbreaking and the most memorable for me.

Having seen all the games you listed, my vote would be Georgia 03.

I don't recall anyone leaving that game in the third quarter, or the fourth quarter, for that matter. I knew from the moment that game was played that it was a special Tiger team that year

I was not there for any of the games but the 97 Florida was my favorite. I was 10 and that was our third year year with a winning record in the 90s. There was no way in hell we will beat Florida especially after Cecil Collins tore his acl in a scare over vandy the week before. Florida was beating the shite out of everybody and we punched them in the mouth all game with the Chinese bandits. Florida was my boogie man of the 90s and I enjoyed seeing Steve spurrrier throw his visor down in disgust lol.
I was happy for herb Tyler who had a hell of a game after that crappy performance he had against auburn a couple of weeks before. I was also happy for my favorite lsu tiger kevin Faulk who came back from a hamstring injury and ran over 100 yards on that defense. Young people now need to understand tiger stadium only had one upper deck at th time with attendance of 79,000-82,000 and the crowd was loud and electric with true die hard tiger fans unlike the corporate fair weather fans that are there now in a 102,000 stadium.
Another favorite game of mine that is not on the list is the 2000 Tennessee game. Rohan davey and josh reed
went beast mode and shined under the bright lights. It was sabans first year after that wtf loss to UAB. It was another electric atmosphere and this was when Tennessee was still a powerhouse. This game and that 97 Florida the goal posts came down.
