Billy Napier — Louisiana head coach
This is the name that will be instantly mentioned if Orgeron is fired.
Napier makes a ton of sense for LSU. He has experience under Dabo Swinney and Nick Saban. And he’s served as an offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach, and tight ends coach, which means he has plenty of experience on the offensive side of the ball.

Napier has been waiting for Clemson or Bama. However, it seems Dabo and Saban aren’t going anywhere so he may have to move east an hour if Ed gets run off.
The fans here in Laffy will be livid and I’m looking forward to their melt if it happens. Hardcore ULaLa’s despise anything LSU. He might be banned from ever coming back honestly

You’re going to have to expand on this. Who would you prefer?

Woody will definitely go after Jimbo (no buyout if i’m not mistaken) and Lane first because that’s his MO. I think Napier would be third on the list.

The backlash wouldn’t be as bad as you think... maybe some threads on ULL droppings and some upset horse jockeys in training. Most peeps would move on. And for the rest who hold a grudge, who gives a shite.

Baw, the door swings both ways. Hardcore LSU fans purposely taunt and talk schit about ULL … it happens daily from both fan bases
In reality, hardcore ULL fans know their program is a resume’ builder and stepping stone for Napier. Most will be happy for him and not harbor any resentment.

I really hope so because I love both teams. Really appreciate what he’s brought to the school the last few years. Truly hope he can get to LSU. It’s not looking good for O.

Dabo fired him. He’s certainly never going to Clemson.

Urban Meyer — Jacksonville Jaguars head coach
This is the dream hire, right?
Regardless of what you think about Urban Meyer, the man wins championships and puts elite teams on the field.
Obviously, he wouldn’t be a long-term answer — he doesn’t seem to stay anywhere for more than a few years. But he could get the program on the right track and likely bring a championship to Louisiana in just a couple of years.
The big problem here is that Meyer is in his first year as the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach.
However, it seems like things in Jacksonville are already off to a rocky start. I’ve never been a believer in the Meyer/NFL experiment. And if it goes terribly this year (like I think it will), it’s possible he could quickly eye a return to college football (kinda like Nick Saban and the Miami Dolphins).
There wouldn’t be a better job available than the LSU job. I think part of Meyer has always wanted to return to the SEC. Getting the chance to go at Saban every year with elite talent would be an ideal situation for Meyer.

Believe it or not, there are some of us on the UL side that would be perfectly fine and happy if Napier goes to LSU. Better there than Bama, Aub or Clemson.
