Shanahan wants to play in the NFL.

He had never played Center before in his life. He has only gotten better. At worst he is a solid SEC Center.

LSU has no immediate replacement on the roster.

He is a key player to get back

Nice list and analysis. I would think we have a shot at keeping most but I can’t envision Jacoby coming back. I would also guess Rosenthal and Ingram are long shots.

I like your list but I’d bet Stevens, Logan and Farrell take their shot at being drafted.

And I’d be REALLY surprised if Gilbert came back.

But even in a rotation, if they flash and play well, I think that could help their stock.

I agree and I don’t think the NFL scouts will hold the playing time against them as long as they make plays when they’re in the game. I’m a big believer in fresh legs being just as important as raw talent on the DL.

Just hope the players see it that way as well.

Jabril Cox is the only upper classman who should be told to go to the draft. He has proven what he came here to prove. Though it would be fricking awesome if he came back next year

What are your thoughts on Deculus? I know he has a lot of tape out so he is who he is to scouts, but damn it would be nice if he’d return. He gets bagged on a lot but there is always a ton of effort from him and he’s a great team guy. Is he going to get drafted mid rounds?

Cox has already accepted a Sr bowl bid, as well as Racey McMath.

McMath is expendable but Cox would be nice to get back. However the acceptance to the bowl is why I didn’t list either.

In pregame last night, Todd McShay said he had Cox listed as the 34th available player in the draft.

If that's true, then he's for sure gone (and good for him)

Deculus would be nice to get back too. Though I think a guy like Wire would benefit from jumping into the starting rotation, or even one of the 2020-21’ OL re riots.

He will have started something like 35 games by the end of this year. I just don’t know what more he could give, and is kinda maxed out as a player.

Yap, cox is a rare LB that can cover.

I don’t think he goes that early, but is a top 75 player. If he has a good combine, he certainly could vault up.

Hard to see Ingram, Stevens and Farrell/Logan coming back

Rosenthal would be huge

In other news Cox’s tape since the TAMU game has been excellent

That’s kinda what I figured as well. Not much more he can do for himself unless he swings to LT which he clearly isn’t going to. Probably would be best for him to go and get pro coaching

Half those players you listed suck and helped lead us to a losing record which is why they’re upper classmen the NFL does not want — hence why they may consider coming back in the first place

This is LSU. Let the Liam Shanihans of the world move on to becoming financial advisors and let’s get some real players on the field that can move the fricking needle. GTFO with your cries for mediocrity

Who is the Center that LSU has ready to start next year? Can you tell me who he is?

So who is the center on our roster that’s going to be better next year?

Someone with talent. Just teach them how to snap the damn ball

Maybe getting a second year of grad school paid for is something he's interested in?

That’s like saying he played for LSU in football for his undergrad and then went to Harvard for grad school so that be could try and get to the nfl

Lester: How many OL does LSU have on scholarship. I think 13. They have 1 OL committed currently, that gets you to 14. Now if Deculus, Dare, Ingram and the Center all do not come back, that brings you back to 10. If Kardell goes to the transfer Portal, that gets you down to 9 OL.

So lets assume they sign 2 more in this class, that gets you to 11 OL on scholarship for next year!!!

I hope all of them come back just to have a number of OL that you can have a 2 deep.

Catch 22. Keep all of them and the attrition after the 21 season would rival 20 and start all over again. 6-10 would be great imo. Ingram is good and will be a player in the NFL. I think he's gone for sure.

Yea I could 13 OL on scholly.

I think 12-13 is the sweet spot.

I wouldn't doubt if it was one of the spots they look to add a transfer at, along with TE and maybe QB.

Again, tell me who he is, you think if he was on the roster, LSU would have went to the transfer portal to get Liam.

Stop and think about that for a second.
