Explain why you think Shanihan bolsters our OLine play next year
The concept of wanting most upperclassmen to return from LSUs historically worst team is not one I’ll buy into, especially if they have to be sold as starters to come back
We need Roy, Ricks, Ojulari, Guillory, Gilbert, Boutte, Max/TJ, Stingley, Gaye, TDP/Emery etc to come back and take the next step for us to be relevant in 2021, adding in the ‘21 freshmen with the hope it all really comes together in 2022 with Max/TJ as upperclassmen with experience. Then we can make a title run again. We are not making a title run next year with much of the same team that just lost more games than it won.
That’s just the way I see it. If you really believe we are ready to ball out next year with Shanihan and Deculus anchoring the line then I like your optimism, as misguided as I believe it to be.

LSU won Saturday because all the selfish and uninspired players either bitched or opted out.
What you saw was pure hustle, determination and will to win. Something the Stingleys, Gilberts, Marshalls, Baskerfields can learn from.
If you don’t want to play every snap like it’s 2019 again, be gone with you.

Dude, take a break. Your posts in this thread are terrible! Give it a rest and come back another day.

I’d add QB. Whichever of the three that will consider transferring after the season.
That won't be determined until after Spring Practice.
Remember when Burrow won the job, then two QBs left.

Kind of counterintuitive to bring back low-ceiling players that led you to a 4-6 record if you want to get back to being a title contender
The truth is they’re not coming back unless theyre starting obviously, so in some areas you’re just limiting your team.
Do you want to see Shanihan’s shite get pushed in at the point of attack for another year and immediately causing road blocks for our RBs? I don’t.
It’s seems like this desire to re-recruit average players is born out of our numbers issues, rather than trying to really improve the team’s performance.
Screw Logan, I’m ready to see Roy and the youth take over at DT and a lot of other areas where we’ve had average play at best
This is the dumbest shite I've ever read.

Great explanation
The OL players in 18 was about the same as 19, what happened? They were superior in 19.
If the OL 2020 comes back intact it's reasonable there will be some improvement in strength as well as team cohesion.
If a Freshman/Sophomore outperforms a veteran player and becomes a starter then it's even better.

Geezus man you are embarrassing yourself, your football IQ is in the mentally retarded range.

5 first-round picks at skill positions - including the greatest QB ever at LSU or maybe anywhere - made them look better than they were
If you can bring back Joe, Clyde, Jets, Chase and Marshall then I will be fine with Deculus whiffing on blocks once every 3 snaps

Seniors who return next year won’t count toward LSU’s 81 scholarship positions. So it would to keep all seniors who want to come back. Austin Deculus and ZVR should be on that list as well.

Damien Lewis and Lloyd Cushenberry are both NFL starters.
Charles became a starter before he got injured.
By your logic, we would have been better off without 3 NFL starters (so far) on our OL last year, because the OL didn’t play well in 2018.
You’re fixated on Shanahan, but your entire stance (that upperclassmen from a bad team won’t help) implies that Ingram, Logan, Farrell, Gaye, Stevens, and Anthony also wouldn’t make our team more successful next year. It’s ridiculous.
If we lose Ingram, Deculus, Rosenthal, and Shanahan and you think that makes the OL better, I don’t know what to tell you other than you’re wrong.

I never said the OLine was trash in 2019, I simply said our skill and scheme made them look better than they were.
And we're not talking about Cush, Lewis or Charles, we're talking about the leftovers and an Ivy League transfer that produced the weakest link in our offense this season
I saw bright spots in the OLine play in 2018 aside from the Bama game. We pushed UGA around at home and went on to win 10 games with a decent rushing attack
And no, I have said players with true upside (like Gaye who is physically capable but raw having come from the JUCO ranks) were worth re-recruiting. I don't even mind rotational players coming back because you need those along the DLine, but I think you're probably going to have to make promises to guys like Logan and that's the part I don't like. I'd rather up-and-comers like Roy starting than older limited players like Logan.
Biggest concern is Oline since we were so bad this year. Ingram was the only bright spot but he's gone IMO. So we're talking about bringing back 2 liabilities at Center and Right Tackle and probably giving them assurances to do so despite both being physically limited players. I'm not a fan of that idea
Yes, I think Wire is already better than Deculus and we can't get worse at Center unless we can't teach someone to snap a ball which literally every other school can do so why not us?

This is, collectively, the worst set of takes I’ve ever seen confined to a single thread. Merry Christmas to you sir.
