After looking this list over I like Parker from Iowa or Diaz from Penn St. They have Matt House as 6th Lol

CBK go get Parker or Diaz. I'm sure others will choose differently. Make a pick.

coming I to the season there was reason to like House.

But now I a wondering exactly what he brings to the table?

If it’s going to just be 100% dependent on high quality talent then what is he doing?

I do think House is better than he was this year. I don't think he needs elite talent to be successful, but he had bad position coaches, basically no DL coach and he had a lot of youth. I don't think he is a good enough coordinator to coach around those issues.

Where he failed was LB play, which he is the coach of. Our LBs were the worst part of our defense. Thats a major issue that assumingly won't get fixed if House stays.

Diaz is a HC now.
Parker would be a very hard pull. 20+ years at Iowa and in his 60s. Doubt he is leaving for anywhere but retirement. Probably has been sought after elsewhere, but hasn't moved.

If House is eventually canned, throw the bag at Minter.

This is about 100% how I feel about it. I think it stings worse or is harder to comprehend because expectations falling short around some big names like Maason and Omar and savion etc. I think it speaks well for him that he improved the total defense rank from the seventies to the thirties in his first year with a lot of transfers as well. But can’t forget the lbs have been bad. Penn is a sure tackler, but outside of an int in zone coverage he was pretty bad in coverage. Weeks looked good, but I was hoping Speights would be better.

Penn takes the worst angles I have ever seen. He runs to where the ball carrier is and not where he is going to be and he ends up chasing from behind.

Why is no one talking about Ole Miss D-Coordinator being 9th best? He's not much better than House, if at all.

I really don't understand the Parker hype. I'm not saying he's a bad DC, but he's been at Iowa 20+ years developing 2 & 3 star recruits in that system. Guys generally don't begin to see real playing time until there Jr. year. Take 2023 for example, defensive starters: 5 RS Seniors, 2 Seniors, 2 RS Juniors, 1 Soph, 1 RS FR.

Do you really expect him to come down here and do the exact same thing within 1-2 years?
