You watched a lot of games on your television which selectively show sideline shots of the coach? Thanks for your input Carl Jung.

We had a three point lead and they were already in easy FG range. Even if they don’t score a TD, which they still might have, they would have sent it to OT and easily won there. LSU was collapsing.

He was Bama’s bitch from that point on, so yeah, that was the nail

People forgot how much more this stuff played into recruiting when you couldn’t just throw bags around above board.

Was definitely the beginning of the end for Miles, people can downvote it all they want lol

Idk bro, my optimism will be fully in tact if we finish 5-1. Momentum is a thing. A lot easier to write off two competitive road losses with a strong finish.

Probably would have me in a better mood too, you’re right.

The point remains that there’s a very good chance 9 & 3 will not be good enough for a playoff berth. Nobody gives a shite about the bowl games beneath the playoff.

Lots of injuries and some bad in game coaching decisions

Without those injuries we are likely 6-0 and definitely 5-1.
We would be going into a winnable stretch and very confident. The miscues would be chalked up to a first year of a coaches tenure with a lot of new players and everyone would be happy.
Losing to UK sucks but it’s laughable to think the program isnt in much better hands since he got here.

Ah what? again. I am sure notice when LSU or other high ranking SEC teams take out the first and to some degree the second team what happens. Teams like McNeese and La Tech all of a sudden look very competitive. Bringing Saban up is not relative at all. Once again guys like Green, Weeks, Pickett, Geralds and Princewell are not equally replaceable. Had just Weeks and Green played last weekend we win. I truly believe that.

Eerily similar when you think about that game compared to last Sat.

I think there is so much focus so much on the Yeldon play that it is forgotten that Alabama had ONE first down the entire second half up until that drive. Like Saturday, we abandoned everything we had done on D in the second half up to that point and allowed a struggling offense to drive right down the field.

Baker adjusted and the defense played a hell of a second half up until we punted on the 4th and 1.

It’s the third down calls (single file LB pop warner BS), the 2pt conversion, and two god awful first halves against Ole Miss and Kentucky.

I have been a staunch baker defender throughout the BK era & up to this point.

Some of this has been egregiously bad & you already know from the OP I’m not trying to be captain raincloud. If Baker can’t clean up the 3rd and Chavis shite in big games, the dude is fair game IMO.

He has yet to deliver a complete season as DC. He always looks great against inferior competition.

Not getting paid $4.5M to shut down bad teams & mega-choke against every team with a QB.

There is another similarity. In both games, when we needed a single first down to win, we ran on first and second down, leaving third and long. In both games it was the passing game that was working for us, but we pussed out to chase the game clock.

IMO, both of those games would have been wins if they had called second down passes.

Except probably out zone defense.
We don’t need that stuff. Go with man. They won’t give up big plays.
We play man. It’s that simple

Kentucky was 5 of 14 on 3rd down. Baker is 100% fair game but our fans are so desperate for somebody to blame they just park this one on him. It’s on Kiffin and the O. And I 100% believe Kiffin is our guy and the offense will continue to improve. I think Kiffin will win multiple championships here. But the inability to finish the game when you had the ball twice with the lead and then punting on 4th and 1 is why you lost. Not to mention after the Leavitt killer fumble the defense stepped up
and got a stop. After the INT that set Kentucky up the defense got the stop. The defense has to get better and hopefully get Whit back but just putting it all on them is bullshite and anybody with a brain knows that.

This is the best take I’ve read on here. It’s probably somewhere in between that. 8-4, 9-3 especially since all of our tough games are at home.

Punting is very sensible when their kicker has the yips & they have no timeouts.

Lining up in a gimmick defense on 3rd and long when, as you said, Kentucky was 5 of 14 on 3rd down… and then whatever the frick that 2pt call was…

Both egregious.

I would’ve preferred going for it, but that is at least defensible. Baker’s role in the loss & his mistakes are not defensible.

He came out of this with the most egg on his face, by far. You’re not gonna change my mind man.

Maybe he gets it together, but he sure seems to crumble in big moments in big games. People often ask what Kiffin has accomplished… I think what he did at Ole Miss was impressive personally.

wtf has Baker accomplished?
