I love fire and compassion but to me he and his team were cocky and annoying.
Much like our Gorilla Ball teams were to other fans?

You're telling me that an elite coach would make any "high-major" team THE program?
How many "THE" programs can there be at one time? Come on, dude. Don't pretend there isn't a major difference at a place like LSU.
Texas and LSU are the premier programs in baseball, much like Alabama football or Kentucky basketball. But any program with the resources can become dominant. don't be naive about that.

Yes, I also doubted that Vitello was even seriously considered for the position.
The message boards liked him a lot more than Woodward did.

I meant our players were pretty brash.
Would love TV as our head coach, we need some attitude.

idk if you've noticed the trend of college sports, but being a players coach is becoming ever more popular.

one thing that i thought was interesting in his interview was him talking about Tennessee taking a chance on him when even his Alma Mater wouldn't.
I know there aren't many of them, but for the Missouri Baseball fans out there that has to be a punch in the nuts lol

It's absolutely a shot at them. He's also hijacked a good portion of their fanbase too.

I was there. It was either the first or one of the first that Mizzou actually allowed opposing fans. And it was only because the Mizzou AD has a daughter working in the Tennessee athletic dept.
You still couldn't buy tickets, you had to be on a list to get in.
But there were a lot of people from St Louis and Kansas City there wearing orange.
ETA: Mizzou season ticket holders apparently were able to buy tickets. But there weren't a lot of them around.

i don't think he'll leave Tennessee for a lot of this specifically. they had a goddamn vol walk for him in Omaha, Nebraska. He's the king of Knoxville right now, and a baseball coach has never had that type of treatment there. Bruce Pearl might be the last guy there period that has. Dude's got it made, and I don't know how he'd handle the massive shift in expectations at a place like LSU

This is what happens to those who can’t football.
