Just said on PTI that if his kid was a QB, he would force him to go to LSU. Apparently that’s the only missing piece for a national championship every year

I always felt this way as a huge home, but with Ed as HC I’m not sure I’d want my star qb going there

It’s a better choice than being third string at UGA.

my thinking we didn't get qb's. because miles wouldn't let them throw.

remember cholly mac. same story. he squandered bert jones talent. bert said it was the worst mistake he ever made going to lsu because of the offense.

you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. if you let a qb throw, he's going to throw some interceptions. and get sacked a few times

This was his main point. It’s ridiculous that 5 star Eason has to transfer now because another 5 star Fromm came in to take his job. And now ANOTHER 5 star is heading to UGA next year

One of these guys should know they can lock down the job at LSU and not get processed out.

We shall see, they have two good young QB's this time around. I think it had more to do with the bad coaching than QB play, but we shall see. LSU played lights out defense when Saban was there just like Alabama has done now since his arrival. The defense since he left has been decent under people like Pelini and Chavis, but I hated their schemes and their success was based more on the great play of the LSU athletes. It has been much better under Aranda, but still nothing like the Saban days.

but on the offensive side of the ball, it's always been much more of a problem than QB play, the offenses were one dimensional and just plain bad when the run was stopped, and now we have Ensminger up to bat. Lol We will see what kind of offense he comes up with. But with a shite load of talent at the WR position with such players as Dee Anderson, Sullivan, D Davis, Giles, J Jefferson, M Netherly, McMath, and add T Marshall, J Jenkins, K Jones and probably Chase too. You better start passing the shite out of the football, no excuses.

I couldn’t in good faith let my kid play for Ed Orgeron. There’s no plan, no direction.

I followed Bert Jones' career at LSU and most of his pro career as well as his senior year in HS. I've never heard this comment attributed to Bert before. He and Andy Hamilton lit it up at LSU and had a tremendous football team his last year. One that would have had a shot at a naty with a little luck.

Please provide me with a link or reference?

If my kid was an athletic director I’d send him to Lsu

He's not completely wrong. A star QB can make a terrible head coach look damn good. Remember how we ended up with Hallman?

Fwiw Saban didn't recruit many great QBs while he was here. He got Matt Mauck, Marcus Randall, Jamarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, Rick Clausen, and Lester Ricard. Mauck was serviceable. Flynn ended up winning a title and stuck around the league for awhile but was never spectacular. Randall was terrible. Clausen and Ricard both transferred. Russell was the only bona fide great QB he ever signed here. Davey was the best that played for him (Jamarcus didn't shine until after Saban was gone) but was signed by Dinardo.

Our QB issues have been present for decades. I feel like we usually have a good QB every 10 years or so

Second string is open now. Eason is transferring. Probably to Washington.

LSU doesn't have a good QB history at all. I mean 2,300 yards in a season will put you in the top 10 all time for LSU. Since the beginning of the program LSU doesn't have a rich QB history. Just how it is.

Yup. Danny Etling just had the 8th most yards in a season with 2463 yards. We've only had three players ever throw for 3000 in a season. With the way the game has changed, that's pathetic.
