Wait Canada, system doesn't fit L.N. or McMillon but does fit Jacoby Brisset?

Not the same system. Different offense at N. C. State. This offense looks more like Pitt. More pro style.

LN is a freaking true freshman. Etling will be gone next year. Canada has used both type of QB's.

This is Brennan's job.

Not trying to argue with you bro. If you call them reps, they are reps.

Demoralized them any more than 4 reps a practice?

How many snaps did he get? Reps aren't all about passing the ball. As a former qb you have to get reps handing off also.

I hope so too. I think coaching entails developing what requires development. It wasn't the best fit for this kid, even with the old staff.

This makes no sense. That's the main reason he was sought after. His only system is one that caters to it's players available and allows them to play to their strengths. Too many teams have proven you can win many big games with different style QB's when you put them in position to make plays. We better hope DE and Brennan don't get hurt and live up to the hype.

These other guys won't be around long and guys like Parkway's QB will never stay in-state to play here if they know coaches will have a favorite and only work with him.

Scrimmage "snaps" 4-5 plays.

There is a little more to being a starting QB than you seem to think. You can have the tallest, fastest, strongest arm SOB in the world and if he is too dumb to pick up the playbook, he will not play.

I agree with this, except that its not my point. If LN barely got reps in the spring, then has limited reps in the fall, how can he compete? And LN is certainly not dumb (not that you are implying that).

quote:

If a QB is used to being in a shotgun 100% of the time and now has to take snaps from under center and is having trouble with it, he will not play.

Both incoming guys have struggled under center at times. MB has gotten tripped up by the OL trying to hand the ball off from under center.

quote:

If a QB had two knee injuries his last two seasons of high school and the coaches want to bring him along slowly so he can completely heal, he will not play.

So you use him to run the ball on the goal line where contact is guaranteed?

quote:

If a QB at this time in his life is just not performing as well as the other QB's, he will not play.

Or you throw him into the wildcat to keep in from whining about not getting a real shot at playing his position.

quote:

There are many things that you and I are not aware of that explain why certain QB's are getting less reps.

I'm aware that MB has taken more snaps in two weeks, than LN did the entire spring and fall.

quote:

I trust the coaches choices when they see them perform and interact with them in meetings everyday and whose livelihood depends on making the correct decisions over yours. Sorry

I trust them to choose who they prefer period. Thats important. If Lowell is a spread QB, the kid should go run a spread offense.

So, DE is the entrenched started. Canada is building an offense that will run through him. It just seems that they're needing to get a backup ready that would fit this offense. Maybe next year, when all the receivers have this offense installed, he can cater more to Narcisse, and create packages that fit both he and Brennan's skill sets next year.

Maybe the best way he can start building an offense around Narcisse is to start with a goalline package that gets expanded next year.

Or maybe, it will just never work out with McMillan and Narcisse. Who knows? Maybe Canada's just doing what he wants because he knows if he succeeds this year, he can take a head coaching gig and leave our QB situation in the lurch.

But, if he's going to stay a year or two, you have to think someone with the acumen of Canada will be looking down the pipe of only having 3 capable QBs on scholarship next year (assuming we don't land one this year in recruiting). So, I imagine his approach will change next year.

Canada is not making the decision here.

Are you implying that Orgeron has picked the starting QB? Canada who was brought in to re-vamp the offense let the "DL coach", the guy some say is nothing more than a cheerleader, make the call on who will lead Canada's offense?

Wow. Just wow.

He's not saying Orgeron is unilaterally making the decision, he's saying Orgeron is the one to ask as far as announcing it.

Ok... "Canada said the decision on naming a starter for the Sept. 2 opener against BYU at NRG Stadium in Houston would be made by Orgeron."

If O is making the pick for starting QB without Canada telling him what to say, he needs to be fired tomorrow. That's precisely what he said he had changed some OM days.

I just can't see it. Obviously he would be the person to 'announce' it though, being that he's the face of the program.

I may be one of the biggest O detractors on this site, but even I don't think he would be that dumb lol
