They will never take over Florida recruiting again. Too many teams pluck players out of Florida.

Alabama made it in 2017 with an 11-1 2nd place in the SEC West finish, their SEC East opponents that year were Tennessee and Vandy who were 4-8 and 5-7 respectively. They were a combined 0-14 vs the rest of the SEC.

So your arguement is bama got in with weak sec east opponents? Do you not realize that bama always gets in? Do you even 2011 bro?

It is better for LSU win all our games. Whether Florida is 7-0, 0r 5-2 really doesn't matter Do you think that Tennessee win over Ga Tech in 2017 helped Alabama make the playoffs that year, after all it made UT 4-8 instead of 3-7

I bet no LSU fan hoped Miami would suck after we beat them last year.

Miami is not in our conference so i don't care about them, but what do you think was more detrimental to our playoff chances last year Miami falling apart or us losing to Florida?

Shouldn’t the same logic apply to these teams next week? Go Tech, go Duke, go whatever ooc teams auburn and A&M to play right? There is absolutely no reason why anyone wanting UF to lose today should want Texas to beat La Tech next week. Texas would hurt our recruiting grounds (Houston area) more than the harm done if Florida is able to recruit better in Florida

I’m mainly talking about between the three big Florida teams.

You pulling for Duke and la Tech next week?

Bama and Texas have a better chance of getting a playoff spot than UF right?

You will not see me actively rooting for Florida EVER unless it somehow directly impacts LSU's chances of advancing to a more favorable situation. This is an example of indirectly affecting LSU's playoff hopes. I honestly couldn't care less who wins tonight. If UF wins, then yeah they'll probably be ranked real high coming into October 12 if they beat Auburn at home. If Miami wins, that's great too because frick Florida.

Then what does Florida's record have to do with anything?

Youre all over the place.

In the BCS there was a formula...
Bruh, listen to me. No really, look at what I'm typing.

I. frickING. GET. ALL. OF. THAT. You don't need to keep repeating yourself. I get it, we're not using a formula anymore like the BCS. The BCS is no more. There is no formula. However you want to keep repeating that, I get it.

But your point is a really definitive, all based on assumption, statement. You clearly said (paraphrasing) that SOS wouldn't play a factor at all. As though just because you said it, it's the truth. You thought it, it's the gospel.

And my statement back to you was giving you a very true, based on fact rhetorical question: how do you know that? It's not computers determining, it's humans. It's opinions and sometimes emotion. It's the way they feel that day. It's who they THINK should be in.

And then you come back with the internet zinger (that you so hypocritically accused me of doing) of "Do you read?" For the record, I hate the current way. It's closer to the old way of using AP/UPI writers of determining who's good and who's not than the BCS. We really need a system and maybe give the committee a slight veto authority. But not give them the entire authority to place the final four in. We need middle ground between BCS and the selection committee.

You completely missed my point. It went over your head. Which is why I answered your smartass patronizing question with my equally smartass patronizing answer of "use your brain". No really, use it. Take a step back and think about what I'm saying.

You have no fricking idea what will determine the selection committee's choices of who is in. Neither do I. But I can say that my point of Florida being ranked higher (top ten or so) and LSU beating them this year could only help LSU's cause a little bit better than placing the chance solely on beating Bama. Wouldn't you say that LSU beating Florida and going 11-1 is more realistic than LSU going undefeated or bust? LSU needs to beat Bama. That's obvious. Doesn't even need to be said. But let's say LSU plays them close and loses by a last minute score (a la 2014/2016) - then who knows? Maybe they will look at the full body and say we deserve a shot. It certainly couldn't hurt.

I think we got off on the wrong foot. Let's just let it go.

Geaux Tigers!

Are you that dumb kid? The scenario for LSU to get in with one loss is as follows. Have a damn strong strength of schedule, losing to bama on the road close. That "should" be enough to put lsu in over a conference champ like say Oregon playing only one or two ranked teams. This is why it's imperative we beat as many quality opponents as possible if we do indeed lose to bama. Undefeated conference champs will get in over lsu but one loss conference champs with weaker schedules would give us at least a decent chance to still sneak in. Not that complicated

The few on here who are trying to be so goddamn different do not represent the majority of people out there not on this board. Most LSU fans pull for other SEC teams when those teams are playing OOC games. I would place a 100 bet with anybody that says different. Let's go to a random spot and poll 100 people and see who they're pulling for tonight. Because, most people get your point, as do I (and agree with).

frick yes I'm rooting for Duke, i would root for the Taliban or the Chinese over Alabama and if you are an LSU fan you should too or do you think Alabama beating Penn State in 2011 was better for LSU? Would have been really devastating to our SOS if they were 10-2 instead of 11-1

As for Texas, they are not in our conference so i don't really care how teams not in our conference do (i do live in Texas and have a lot of UT friends, so i generally root for them anyway) but we'd be better off with Texas running the table if we beat them but don't win the SEC. LSU vs a 12-1 OU, OU goes over us regardless of the outcome of Miami-Fla, but a 12-1 Texas that we beat, at their place.....
