What's nice is that we're seeing progression. Last season we watched AJ continue to make the same mistakes over & over and by the time the year ended he was just as bad as when he started.

I actually look forward to our offense getting the ball this season. Last year I cringed each time I saw #10 on the field.

I don't believe we would be undefeated had AJ remained the QB.

Needed to get it off of my chest. It's pathetic that people think there's some miracle out there to make our passing game on the level of say a TCU, Florida, or Baylor. Harris can and will improve through each game.

He just has to be forced to throw. That's what happened in yesterday's game (up until halftime) and he did just fine.
Like others I'm glad there's noticable improvement. Zero improvement, or even regression like last year, I'd be really worried.

Anyone remember Boykin's performance against us in 2013? How about the rest of the season that year? (hint: he had as many INTs as TDs-Pass). He didn't improve through that year, it took an offseason before the 2014 season for him.

The fact that Harris A) isn't turning the ball over and making good decisions and B) that improvement is indeed noticeable, to me, speaks volumes.

Just gotta keep it up.

And did I see LSU using empty backfield sets (4 WR + TE?)? And worth noting the offense did very well out of the shotgun.

I agree with all of that, but I think the biggest progression is with the coaches and their play calling (minus the delays) and not necessarily with Harris.

And I wouldn't give Jennings more than a drive. Harris was definitely the better option to start the season. But if Jennings improved in the short game, he might wind up being the better option as Harris is still a sub-par passer.

ETA: I think the real solution will come with Franks next year.

I love how after beating meager competition folks just go GooGoo over stats. I'll wait til a better team challenges Harris before announcing He has arrived. These are the same folks who were hollering Anthony Jennings was the best thing since slice bread.

Why can't Les develope a decent qb when He gets his pick of Great Louisiana qbs???

So far...

They are nothing alike.

Harris has a NFL arm.
JJ didnt.
Harris has a compact and nfl delivery.
JJ had a very elongated delivery
Harris keeps his eyes down field once his pocket breaks down
JJ took his eyes off of down field once his pocket broke down.

The 2 qbs are nothing alike except for being black.

He displays leadership and keeps the team moving. I recall JJ appearing panicked while trying to get the play into the huddle and making bad choices at the line, things Harris seems to handle well. An offense needs a guy who demonstrates leadership and remains calm, Harris does both. He has a great arm but needs seasoning at game speed. Keeping in mind that we have a true Soph at qb and a young corp of receivers, we can only get better. He may never develop into a Heisman hopeful but the possibility exists.

guys just have to continue catching the ball

this. if the receivers can focus and make the catches that they're capable of, then there is no ceiling for this offense and the balance will come!

Why the hate for Harris????? He is progressing..

Because he's a dumazz that can't see the kid is coming along and that Les and Co. have had a tight leash on him thus far.

If he continues to improve throughout the season he'll be more than what we need. And his anticipation seems to be looking better at times. That short TD pass to Dupre was a perfect example. He threw that one well before Dupre got open. And it was a perfect throw.

To the People still skeptical on Brandon Harris...
We're still skeptical because he hasn't done jack against a really good SEC Defense yet.

It's coming, so we shall see what he's got..........

I actually think Harris is progressing pretty well and he threw the ball better vs. South Carolina, than he did in any other game. And the receivers caught the ball better. Of course, there is room for improvement.

Remember, Rome was not built in a day or even a few days. Harris should continue to improve as the season progresses, and he becomes more accustomed to being a major college QB.
