I haven't seen anyone on here argue that LSU was a great team this year but I'm pretty sure that they were in the Top 64. (I understand that some of those 64 were automatic bids.)

Hosting regionals and super-regionals is what LSU is about. Have we sunk this low that we have to make a big deal of this. We are far from where we should be.

that's what I just posted. everyone agrees we suck. We are pissed that suckier teams made it ahead of us. Basically a shady unethical selection committee. And THAT'S what pisses me off.

Don't try to change their minds. According to some it doesn't matter what the rest of the country does. Hell they were pissed we got a 2 seed last year. If LSU isn't hosting then we didn't deserve anything.

Season as bad, but it wasn't bad enough to not make the tourny.

I'll agree the whole situation is FUBAR. Yeah, we sucked, but we did better than a lot of the teams that got in.

It's our fault for even being on the fringe. It's like teams complaining about missing the NCAA tournament, it's not like they really think they are the best team in the country, they just want to bitch.

This year was not our year.

The OP is nicer than I am. My message to these folks is to stop confirming how simply you think.

YES, it is true if LSU won enough games, then they would not have anything to worry about.

This truth has absolutely no bearing on the situation that is the reality of this post season.

That reality is, given the facts about this LSU team, they should have gotten in relative to some teams that did get into the post season.

We are coming off like a whiny fan base. We settle for nothing but the best, and then when we have a mediocre season we think somebody owes us something. I would have loved to get in, but I'm not going to spend energy convincing someone that we should have been the 64th team over someone else. Frankly, that should be beneath all of us.

I understand the sentiment, but bitching about St. Johns, my ...how the LSU baseball program has dropped.

Im not happy we didn't get in, but its not some intense bitterness towards the NCAA committee or St. John's. I just wanted to watch a few more baseball games personally. September 3rd is still a ways off.

This LSU team left the decision in the hands of other people because of their inconsistent play. The season is over. It's time to stop whining and move on. Get better for next year.

LSU wont get better by just sitting still. Major staff changes HAVE to be made. It was obvious that needed to happen after last season and it didn't, so it remains to be seen if PM will do what needs to be done. He needs to put his personal feelings aside and do what is best for the program and replace his "BBQ Buddies" with the best hitting and pitching coaches available. I don't think there are many recruits that are licking their chops at the thought of coming here and being coached by Grewe and Sanchez? The proof is in the pudding. Right now the "Program" is recruiting itself. Now that we're officially out of the tournament, the changes should happen this week or they probably wont happen at all.........

If they don't happen at all, PM is playing with some serious fire. I personally think he pulls the plug on both, as he is not that stubborn.

There are 24 teams with equal or worse records in the regionals. I think they earned it.

LSU cut it too close. I think that they should have been in the tournament and that they would have done well.

Are people saying that it's better to lose to powerhouse teams than lose to in-state smaller school teams?

I guess I'm close to being in the "LSU didn't deserve it" crowd at least more so that those last week who felt it was a no-brainer that LSU would get in.

Still, whereas I firmly believe we dug our own hole, I would love to hear the committee specifically address to the Baton Rouge media (meaning just one on one about LSU) as to why LSU was passed over for St John's, Jacksonville and Dallas Baptist to name a few.

My personal opinion was always that if you can't play well enough to get into your own conference tournament you shouldn't expect a bid to the NCAA.
