Have no particular angst with the guy but $10 million a year fosters reasonable expectations by fans. A QB can't be hidden in SEC play, nor can one's HC.

Sufficient time has elapsed for better results [at least playing for a SEC title].

If he fields another lackluster season - do believe he will find himself looking elsewhere to play rounds of golf.

Don't confuse people with the facts. The fact is that the Kelly haters are the same people who will begin to criticize McMahon as the season progresses, and the team begins to lose games. These are the same people who wanted Jay Johnson fired after his first year on the job at LSU.
The fact is that Kelly is a damn good coach. Will he bring a championship to LSU? I honestly do not know.

Of those 7 losses, 5 were to ranked teams, and 5 were on the road.

You should post Kelly’s home record; it’s pretty impressive.

There’s no reason to try to defend Kelly, Nussmeier, or anyone else on here. This site is nothing but mouth breathers straight out of Idiocracy. Yeah, he took over an LSU team that was in shambles, right dead in the middle of this NIL/ portal nonsense, and had them competing in the SEC again. But none of that matters, because these chatty hens on here just get all in their feelings and just need someone to blame for why their lives are so shitty.

Yet still can’t win a season opening game and has some inexplicable losses like Texas A&M in 2022 and Florida this season.

Way too much talent on this roster to have 4 losses.

Some of the keyboard commandos around here are going to shut in something because they just wired that way. The numbers tell the truth. Now if you don’t like the guy, that’s one thing but please tell us who you would replace Kelly with and why that coach is better. I’m guessing that there won’t be many responses.

So it’s National Championship or bust, Right?

:rotflmao:

When since BK has been here has LSU been "CLOSE" even to a NC?

LSU isn't even the mix this year with 12 teams!

So it is not NC or bust...Not necessarily even playoffs or bust.

But being in the playoff conversation or bust? Yeah. That's not unreasonable. So yeah. Year Three? HUGE BUST!

You have to "bring receipts" when you've currently got nothing to show, but you are hoping it pans out in the future.

Gotta love those receipts!

Those responses are almost always ridiculous and along the lines of “give Kirby $20m per year and make him say no”.

That's a lot of words to defend a coach that talks a lot shite, can't back any of it up, and gets paid like he actually won something.

I really detest jackwagons who hold elitist opinions.

"We know the truth."

Yes Definitely. Any verbal jujitsu or magic trick with his record becomes FACTS to you Kelly Pimps...and those of us who watch the games and trust our eyes are just ignorant blokes who don't know football and can't see facts.

LSU has a coach that’s had 3 years to prove himself.

And he has.

That’s a pretty good analysis, but it leads out his major flaws, which are several.

Losing the opening game three years in a row is not an LSU tradition and never should be. That has to get fixed immediately. The other things that have gone wrong have been hiring shitty coordinators specifically on the defensive side. A huge issue with the defense looking like shite for 2 1/2 years and only coming around on the back half of this year. LSU is known and revered as a strong defensive football team. Kelly has killed that perception.

His other problem is losing big games that would make a difference for us getting into the playoffs like Florida this year, and losing Texas A&M after beating Alabama in 2022?. This weakens the program and the perception of the program both in the media and the fans eyes.

Yes, he can win some games and he can have a winning percentage, but if you can’t win the big games when the spotlight is on and it means something- like a playoff chance or an SEC Championship game, then he’s always gonna be looked upon as subpar.

I’m as big of a BK defender as anyone, but for many fans, having LSU’s present win percentage is not what $100mil was supposed to buy. I think most were expecting, say, UGA’s win percentage.

I’m still riding with BK, but I think a lot of folks aren’t because of that right there.

It is wild how some of you cucks defend him on anything and everything. Is Kelly a good coach? Yeah. Has he taken the program to where he sold all of us on believing where it’d be in year 3? No. Has he won the games he’s supposed to? No. Has he had his team disciplined and ready to go from the start of the season? No. It’s okay to be upset with Brian Kelly even though he hasn’t gone .500

Spot on. Agree 100%. It’s the unpreparedness and the vanilla product put out time and time again. It’s the equivalent of Leslie’s clock management

I like Kelly. But your first stat shows LSU fifth. We didn’t hire Kelly to finish 5th in the SeC every year

My biggest issue with him is the lack of preparation for opening games. That and half of a competent defense last year and he probably gets his shot at a NC.

Because of LSU. He started the game and tried to come back in the game. The defense is responsible for his injury.
