Retiring numbers is a dumb, antiquated, and short-sighted practice. I don’t think any player should have their number retired.

It’s ok to hang their jerseys in a hall of fame or something like that, but retiring it and not letting someone else use it is just silly.

There is already a limited number of jerseys available since college football teams often have over 100 players on them. It’s not sustainable to keep retiring numbers for every great player that comes through. Eventually you will in out of numbers.

I think it would be awesome to see an LSU player wear #20 again. Something’s just really cool about that number. Jardin Gilbert would sure look good in it.

LSU fans have an obsession with retiring numbers. I am also not a fan. I am not asking to unretire any, but I think the idea of retiring numbers needs to stop.

I also agree with retiring the jerseys and honoring the players in other ways.

At some point you run out of good numbers.

I know we are in the minority here though.

IKR. I don't think Bama has ever retired a single number.

Florida has yet to retire 15. I think Tebow deserves it if anyone does.

I mean we only have 3 retired jerseys in football. I personally don't think it's as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

Just FYI, the three LSU football retired jerseys are 20 Billy Cannon, 37 Tommy Casanova, and 21 Jerry Stovall.

NY Yankees have 22 retired numbers. 1 thru 10 are all retired
( 8 retired twice, Berra and Dickey ).

That is a little much. Maybe put a 50 year expiration time limit.

No 20 is the only retired number. 21 and 37 are retired jerseys.

Wait, you’re bitching because LSU has ONE retired number? There’s 99 problems and one number ain’t one. It is antiquated and short sighted. That is why LSU doesn’t do it anymore. But you don’t go and take the reward away from someone. Reggie Bush “losing” the heisman was dumb too.

you have a shaq, skip, augustus statue and you now gonna add burrow, daniels, mikayla williams statues? it’ll be like an amusement park or something around campus.

they need to do busts or something.

If Bryce Underwood made his commitment contingent on being able to wear 20, I guarantee that number would be unretired
