Appreciate the sentiment, those old unis look great, but for consistency and brand equity reasons the "LSU" letters when applied horizontally should only be rendered in the Geaux Font.

There's something to this approach, but there was never a branding issue with LSU using multiple versions on various uniforms and locations in the past.
The problem is LSU misuses the Geaux font. Instead of using it as the text logo only, they use it as a font for everything, which takes away a TON of what makes the logo recognizable. By using it for everything, "LSU" written in the Geaux Font looks less like LSU's logo and simply LSU written out in a special font.

LSU was arched on the 80s and 90s uniforms, about as much as the arched LSU on the football helmet.

Meh. Why not associate a younger generation of fans with these awesome throwbacks? I feel that's just opening up the brand even more. I don't see any issue with having a regular-rotation throw back get-up like this. I think it would be awesome.
