Ward leaves the court, and SLU goes on a 2:00 min scoring drought. That's the main problem with playing Ward; he doesn't really play D.

LSU can't get out of their own way at times. Go on a nice little run and then turn it over 3 times in 1:00 min.

LSU shot 61% and won at the FT line with 5-6 vs. SLU 0-0 in the 1st, but SLU hanging around by working the boards and getting 10 more shots.

That, and 11 turnovers.
Sadly, that has been the story of this team all season. They (usually) shoot a relatively high FG%, yet completely mitigate that by wasting possessions turning the ball over or giving opponents extra shots.
You want to know how you shot the ball relatively well, yet still have a horribly inefficient offense that doesn’t produce a higher volume of points. That’s how.
The lone hallmark of McMahon’s teams to date is regardless of anything they do well, they have an area in which they are terrible to cancel out the good.

Really shows you how far our program has come. We competed hard with Nicholas and now in a dog fight with Selu. Maybe one day we can be as good as that other Southland school
