Asbestos doesn't typically hurt anyone unless it's stirred up, sitting there is pretty harmless. That's why they keep people away so no one accidentally goes mess with it not knowing what they're stirring up.

After gamedays everyones desk would be covered in white dust from the ceilings. Then facility services would come every Monday morning to clean up. But not after a game would be in the evenings.

I lived one semester in the East Stadium dorms back in the mid 80's. Where exactly was the asbestos? I recall that dorm room being concrete up one side and down the other. With out a/c and the window the sounds in there reverberated like you were in a drum or a concrete cave. There was no detectable insulation as I recall, lol! Speaking of living in TS, I sure wish that I had taken a pic or two to remember I by since it was kinda special (despite the lack of comfort on many levels) living in such a revered and historic building. Does anyone know where I could find pics of the inside of the dorm rooms?

are East and West being stripped down to the concrete already?

I don't understand how you could tear them down without messing with the structural integrity of the stands above them...

The price has come way down from 5 years ago. I'm sure LSU could get a great price on 32" screens for concessions stands when buying 100+ TVs.

Or go to any of the numerous restaurant/bar closings and get a bunch of TV's.

Been wondering the same, I was in West Stadium fall of 80 and recall it pretty much like you do. The only thing I can imagine is the ceiling tiles (and I don't recall what the ceilings looked like) may have been asbestos.

I also recall there were large storage rooms across the hall from the dorm rooms. Seems those could be turned into useful spaces for concessions or restrooms actual fit for human habitation.

I don't have time to read this whole thread...but is the PVC pipe finally going away?

Don't forget the lead paint. That's what's wrong with me.

When did they stop using those dorms? I remember someone telling me back in the day the players would stay there the night before the game or something.

Yea man another thing the tech told me is there are plenty of dorms with like 80's posters and stuff in them that were just left behind. No telling what you can find in there

That doesn't sound correct.

There is some crazy stuff in the dorms. Back in the late 90's and early 2000's there were many homeless in there during the winter time. With some of the stuff written on walls you can tell there was a lot of drug use.

We should ship it to Tuscaloosa.

They could put it in their Skoal supply.....

Honestly, I'd rather have asbestos than a beer garden. You have more people die from drunk driving than dying from mesothelioma.
