That’s my day too. We wore a sport coat and tie. The sport coat provided two inner chest pockets holding a pint of booze each. Drinking was expected as well as drunk driving. All you needed was a student id. No student tickets. After game every fraternity had a live band open to everyone.

Anyone under 30, will never know how great the atmosphere used to be. We now have become entirely dependent on piped in noise, light shows, etc. Prior, we were dependent on ourselves to make that stadium shake. Especially pregame, it basically like going to a concert where you sit back and watch, taking away the electricity of fan engagement.

I went to an OKC Baseball AA Baseball Game the other night and they had a light show. It was awesome.
I'm sure the guy behind homeplate with his Diet Coke and scorebook had a fit.
There will be a bunch of simpletons saying "how dare they", but the light show will likely be awesome. Excited to see how it turns out.

Because light shows kill crowd noise (everyone just pulls out their phones and says ‘ooh & ahh’), they’ll have to do it during half time or something. That may give me a chance at a smaller bathroom line and possibly even some cold nachos and watery soda.

I have to disagree here. I experienced my first light show stadium last year when LSU played at Ole Miss. That was one of the most fun and electric atmosphere's I’ve been to for a road game in a long time.

Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida. All have light shows that get the crowd pumped up and don't "kill the crowd noise". The majority of people that are truly bothered by LSU doing this have most likely never been to a game outside of Tiger Stadium and probably haven't even been to a game at TS in decades
