Is Coke not a sponsor anymore? Half the fricking screen was them and McDonalds

I’m waiting for Coke bottles on the speakers.

I think Auburn and OUs are bigger

Auburn also had to build support structures outside the stadium to accommodate the new boards.

Ok, so?

Is LSU incapable of building supports?

Why would anyone want a scoreboard the size of Auburns? Stands out like a sore thumb.

The supports look like shite.

Also, can you imagine the exterior of the north endzone with supports on the ground? Think about how much of a shite show that would be on gameday. It would look awful.

If you’re advocating LSU obstruct what is Tiger Stadium’s best side with the type of support structure that would require, then you aren’t a serious person.

So they made the screen bigger just to be covered by the size difference in ads? What the fck?!

I’m starting to wonder if some of y’all even have eyes.

The space taken up by ads barely increased, if at all.

Now instead of static ads they can switch them every 30 seconds or so and double the revenue

I could live with that if they show more replays and turn the ads off during replays, or at least keep the ads sized in a way that allows for the replay to be as large as possible in a 16:9 format.

The scrolling tickers though need to be banned. At times, the ads have literally been bright enough to require shading your eyes with your hand to see the action on the field.

Of course they will that one of the whole points of a new board.

Then why didn't they do it the last time we upgraded the videoboard? We had this conversation then as well.

There is a photo in this thread that someone posted of the entire screen taken up by one video image.

I understand that. Of course they CAN use the entire board, the question is WILL they. If we go off of what they have done in the past, I'm afraid we are going to be disappointed. I hope I'm wrong.

For some reason, it looks no different.

Not even getting into the obvious increase in the height of the board, assuming the in-game screen is used the same as this picture:

That is still considerably larger than what we've used in the past:

The way the old board was used, the width was pretty far within sections 232 and 234. The new one extends to the outer edges of those sections.

I’ll be honest that comparison makes the new board look pretty lame. The actual video screen itself barely looks different. They both extend to the middle of sections 232 and 234.

Too much clutter with the miscellaneous stats and ads on both sides. Needs the live action to span the whole board to be an improvement.

Thats not a static board. The video will larger for in game play and replays...they will not keep the stats up the whole time!

The way they have the screen set up with the static national championships and ads on both ends. It really isn’t any bigger than the old one. I don’t understand how Mississippi state can figure out how to use the video board and actually make it full use and still have advertisement, but we somehow can’t do it. we can’t even figure out how to do plays in between major plays in the game.

Here's a better visual of the in-game screen if they use it the same as the above pic with the baseball game on.

To be honest the new scoreboard is similar to Michigan's new scoreboards They have 2 identical and they are larger than the south endzone board. LINK
