Would be LSUs best hire since Nick Saban

Please don’t misunderstand. I know what you’re saying.

But really, this is a bigger hire than Nick Saban was AT THE TIME. We were impressed with his first press conference and knew he had the potential to do well. And he became the GOAT (sadly, for the gumps.)

But LSU has never hired a three-time national championship winning coach. If we are going by pure resume and worksheet, this is the best coaching hire in LSU history.

Saban was strong enough to change LSUs losing trajectory into SEC power. The groundwork he laid got LSU to lay has turned LSU football into a national power. 3 national titles plus another national title game appearance. LSU football is now a monster.

She’s 58. Say she’s at LSU 12 years. How many SE ,titles and national titles do you believe is realistic

I say SEC 4
National 1

the biggest competition in the SEC will be dealing with South Carolina annually. I don't think anyone else in the SEC has an elite caliber coach near Mulkey and Dawn's level. Not that say neither will lose games at times but I would expect both to go 1-2 always

Am I the only one who has issues paying a women’s basketball coach 2.5 million??

If she comes to LSU, here's hoping, and I think she will keep Louisiana's best players in state as well as establish a nationwide recruiting base. She has to bring with her some capable assistants, and not have a staff like Fargas had, who were also as incapable as Fargas!

2 is possible. I’d actually say that’s a little more possible than multiple (4+) SEC just b/c the SEC is so much more competitive of a conference.

But she won her first 2 NC’s in her first 12 seasons, with the first coming in 2005. And that was at a Baylor program that was in even worse shape and probably less resources (at the time) than LSU. Plus Baylor didn’t have the recency history of LSU’s program going to 5 straight Final 4’s.

So I think all of that makes 2 very possible.

I am sure she will bring her entire staff from Baylor.

Yeah there should be no issue when it’s been stated over and over, she brings in a ton of money to Baylor through fundraising that offsets a lot of her contract.

Unless something happens between now and Monday, the announcement of her hiring will be made at 5 p.m. press conference Monday afternoon.

Yep.

Here is a Baylor fan on their message boards. This is why you open the checkbook and make the hire. It’s a wise investment.

Rhoades-Livingstone got completely out-foxed on this deal. For LSU, Kim Mulkey is a head coach, money-raiser, women's AD and Louisiana Ambassador all rolled into one. The woman is a PR machine. Her position at Baylor will be filled. But Kim Mulkey's place at Baylor will never be replaced.
