Need to stop playing a lot of stuff then.

+10 brazillion.
Oh, and I hate Neck.

if it wasn't "rap music" would anyone have an issue with it? It's a song relevant to sports as the true name is "halftime". I really don't care what they play as long as they sound good doing it.

Please do not compare Saints and LSU
Saints=happy to pull for regardless of W/L
LSU=frustrating

No song we play was originally "our song". Neck has only been played for about three years and we stole that from Southern. Tiger Rag is used by Memphis, Clemson, Missouri, and was even used by the Detroit Tigers at one time. It was a "jazz" song from early 20th century. We stole Hey, Fightin’ Tigers from a musical that had Lucille Ball in it. And the song the band plays on third down is stole from Survivor's, Eye of the Tiger.
Get over it people.

I just happen to prefer the style of the GBFTL over that of the SU band, and don't care for when they do an imitation. Just my personal preference.
As long as the GBFTL doesn't start all playing the same note, blowing as loud as they can, I'm fine with playing music we got from Southern.

You're not in the minority. To be honest, I marginally care for it with the Saints.
But it fits the Saints because you have Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, Shockey, Henderson, etc. all making plays and putting a lot of points on the board.
To see LSU's anemic offense barely get to field goal range or if they're lucky get a td, and then to hear that song and/or Neck is an absolute joke.
And don't get me started on the student section chanting "you suck" to Louisiana Tech when we're barely beating them by 3 points and lucky to be doing so. Hello pot, meet kettle.

This song is terrible and living in New Orleans I hear it all the time unfortunately. The Saints have NOTHING to do with LSU and this should not be played at LSU games.

The song is 4 years old and is only relevant in 2010 because of the Saints. To use this for LSU football is a bit unoriginal and, perhaps, some are trying to tie the recent successes of the Saints to LSU.
FWIW, I've learned that the GBFTL is playing a Saints game later this year and will perform this. So it has become part of the set list.

I personally don't like it, but it's a COLLEGE football game, played by 18-23 year olds. If that's what they like or what gets the students up then i have no problem with it.
I don't see why ownership needs to be taken between Saints/LSU. That attitude, among other things, is why this state can't seem to make progress, everyone fights amongst themselves. Who gives a shite, LSU represents the STATE. It's not BR vs. NOLA, or LSU vs. Saints.

The band is comprised of students playing next to the rest of the students. The students mostly all like the song and the Saints I would assume.
It would be different if they were playing "When the Saints Go Marching In" or something, but come on people. There is nothing wrong with it. The point of the band is to help get the crowd going and they do that just fine with this song.

We have officially run out of things to be unhappy about. This is hysterical.
GRRRRRR!!!! I hope the band doesn't play XXXX song

I will be pissed off if i hear this shite in TS.
So, even if the Tigers are winning by 45-0 in the 4th quarter, if you hear the band playing a particular song, you will be "pissed"?
I assume you don't mean "pissed" in a good way, like being drunk.
All I know is that if I see those flag girls at half time again, I'm gonna tear some heads off of people - and I don't care WHAT is happening on the field! I hate the flag girls!

...you see, if something isn't directly related to LSU, it is BAD FOR LSU. There is no questioning this.

I love neck.
If this other song belongs to the Saints then I don't want it in TS. Don't we have enough to draw on without pulling in NFL crap?
