GRRRRRR!!!! I hope the band doesn't play XXXX song this year!!! GRRRRRRR!!!! When my grandpa was at LSU we only played showtunes and we liked it!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Seriously. As I said, I don't like the song but I don't have a problem with the band playing it.
Change is inevetable and this is a young person's activity. College students playing music for other college students playing football. Try to keep that in mind.

It's not "our song" It's unoriginal and stupid if we play it.
it's not really saints song either, it was around way before the saints made it popular

I am tired of hearing it at Saints games, I certainly don't want to hear it at LSU games

Tiger Rag is used by Memphis, Clemson, Missouri, and was even used by the Detroit Tigers at one time. It was a "jazz" song from early 20th century
Yes, but early 20th century New Orleans, so it is a Louisiana song and Tiger Band has played Tiger Rag since the early part of the 20th century.

Who cares what you want to hear? It's not really for you. It's for the students and the players. Stay at home if it's that big of an issue for ya.

Holy crap people. GBFTL tops all SEC bands and you people find something about it to whine about. If you want to find fault, go listen to the Gator band.

I really didn't see the students going nuts over it on saturday. I saw several students sitting near me annoyed by it. I wouldn't base things off of the student section anyway. many are complete idiots when it comes to football from what i've seen

Robert Kennedy famously said that 1/5 of people are opposed to everything, all the time.
I think we are seeing who is in that 1/5.

Well the entire student section, band, and players on the field don't give a shite about what you like to listen to. This is COLLEGE football and these types of things are by the students and for the students.
Clearly the majority of students at the games enjoy it.

Thank you!
If the band plays a song the fans don't like they will not play again.
For example in the early 90s.
Garth Brooks, "Friends in Low Places" = hit with the student section.
"Achy Breaking Heart" = booing (We never played it again)

And now Stand Up and Get Crunk is associated with New Orleans and they are playing it since the early part of the 21st Century.

One student isn't representative of the student section as a whole.
