Did everyone see JJ on the sideline? Really f'ed up his part. Can't believe he would allow his hair to get like that.

If yall can talk about meaningless crap so can I.

Completely, totally, absolutely FALSE.

They gave JJ a ONE READ play.
Either it's open or it isn't.
If it isn't, then THROW THE F*CKING BALL AWAY!

Could not have given him a more simplistic situation.

Which is exactly what he was going to do. He dropped back. A second later he steps up to throw and there is a guy right in his face. Sometimes the other team makes good plays.

I was in the south endzone and had a great view. Randle had man to man with a safety over the top.

Then JJ made the right call. That is exactly how JL threw both of his pics vs Bama. He tried to fit it in with a Safety playing over the top.

fwiw, I agree he holds the ball far to long most plays. It has to get out on time or end up in the stands, but if that was the case then he was right for not attempting it. Still he should have thrown it away long before he attempted.

This seems to be the crux of most all "dual threat" QB's. I would rather have a QB who prefers to master the craft of a drop back passer, but can move out of the way if needed. A Rodgers type.

Oh well either way not that big of a deal

Yeah, right... not a big deal in that game against West. Kentucky, but what about some of the big games we have ahead of us?? JJ certainly serves his purpose, but this is where JL has the edge, not that he showed it in the Bama game...... but overall, he is the better passer...... at this point, everyone should agree on that

I do not like the play call but with max protection you would think he had more time. Pass protection breakdown and cover 2. JJ was lucky he did not fumble and cost 7. Oh by the way 42-9.

3 or 5 receivers, that is what happens when you hold the ball too long. JJ happens to do that far too often and puts the offense in bad down & distance situations.

This is exactly the JJ we have witnessed the last two years. He hasn't changed. People have amnesia when it comes to JJ and our offense in the same time period.

I hate to say it, but I don't see that JJ passing game has improved any from last year to this year.

Have you looked at the coverage downfield?

Have you looked at the play?

Fact, he had about 3 seconds from the snap. Fact, the one route was covered well. Fact, the left side of the line blocked down so IF JJ had any ability to THINK during a play he could have scampered left for a positive running gain (ya know - JJ is the QB that can run).

Bottom line is the play went bad and like is all too often the case JJ got the old deer in the headlights look, panicked and made a bad situation worse. He has done this all too often in his career at LSU.

Look, the guy is as physically gifted as can be, but his reaction and thought process is slower than my 3 year old when a play breaks down. The only time he reacts well is when there is no pressure and a clear running lane.

He was turned around backwards for God's sake!!!!!!!! It WAS intentional grounding and would be 100 times out of 100!

LSU's passing game lacks this.
The Gumps and others eat opps alive with dumpoffs.
A one read, toss it in the stands if covered play, is not utilizing much of the offense.

I mean, I get that it's an easy read for JJ. Your one guy is either open or he's not. If not, throw it away. However, it's too easy of a play to defend as well. I'd have preferred to run the ball again, even if it meant punting. If we just had to throw, I'd have preferred quick slants. That's just my opinion. I was wrong to put that solely on the coaches, it's also on JJ, but the coaches didn't put the players in the best position to succeed in that situation, IMO. I do think the coaches would have simply run the ball and relied on Wing to boot them out of the mess against a tougher team.

the problem was that there was only 1 receiver running a pattern. that leaves 9 blockers and the wku rushers still got thru to JJ. not encouraging.

NO SHITE!! Why don't we flare our backs out of the backfield more. There was no one around Ford, but unless he missed his assignment that was a pitifull play scheme.
