The only aspect of DA's DEF that had me shaking my head this season was the 'rush 3' in critical points of the game (see UF last drive, TAM last drive, and TAM OTs). We have a liability on DEF, avg to bel avg pass rush, and we stripped it down further by rushing 3 and expecting a group of DBs/LBs to cover forever. Moreover in the TAM game it was an under-manned group of DBs. Just didn't make sense, and did not produce. Look back at the UGA game. Some of the biggest plays were when we brought 4 and even an extra guy (ex. Stevens).
DA is an OUTSTANDING coach and we are fortunate to have him. I'll defer to what he sees in game film and practice, but I hope we eliminate the rushing 3 set as it accomplished little to nothing in big moments where 1-2 key stops would have made the difference.

How many all conference D-lineman did we have? Our Dline has gradually gotten less talented over the last 5 years. We have to get better in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

How many defensive players went down in the back end of the season? Not counting losing who aranda said could be the best pass rusher he's ever coached in the first game.
