We seem to start slow and conservative the first half of games which frustrates me. Then the second half of games we start scoring. I'm sure there is a method to the madness and the rant can help explain it.

As much as people like to bitch about all of the motion. It does help get LBs out of position for the run game

A lot of those first half plays are likely setting things up for later in the game.

I'm sure there are plenty of halftime adjustments leading to more scoring as well in the second half.

He knows we are facing a packed box and, like he predecessors he knows his personnel is more likely to attack it directly with success, than with the pass. He is also setting up more complex plays, which payoff in the second half.
And, with Aranda's defense, he knows that not making mistakes is half the game.

The way we are running Etling more as the year ends leads me to believe we are gonna get alot more of Lowell Narcisse next year than we expect right now.

I think his offense will be deadliest with a dual threat QB. Even if we have to cut the field in half for him.

2nd half adustments seem to a strong suit of the coaching staff. They always come out ready to play. I think Canada was handcuffed a bit with Etling this year. Etling can't make all the throws but was the best option to win games. I think next year or the next will tell the tale on Canada. I am not a huge fan, but he has done some nice things and I am very happy with the tigers this year considering what they lost last year and also putting in a new offensive system as well as getting used to the defensive system that has only 2 years.

This right here. This offense has the potential to be deadly with a DT Quarterback. Which is why I want Lowell, not Brennan to be the future of this team.

Those QB Powers, Inside Veer, and traditional Zone Reads That Danny has been running could be popped offfor huge yards with the right QB and I think Narcisse is the guy.

With Les and Cam, I could always predict what plays they were going to run. With Canada, I can’t. That’s something. Hopefully, the numbers will go up with a new QB - I suspect he is limited by Etling.

I agree. I think he has trimmed things down quite a bit due to some of Etlings limitations. I expect a change next season. With a stronger passer and a likely drop off in the run game we will see passing to set up the inside run vs the opposite. It may take a few games with a new QB and Miami game 1. He will manage Brennan/Narcisse early and open up as he gets more comfortable. I think both play vs Miami.

I agree with this. Read option could be a killer with the right person running it.

He's fine, will wait until year 2 to judge him. Need to see an improvement on the foundation being laid this season, but the components for a quality offense are taking place.

Etling is playing better than last year statistically and yet we're scoring less points than last year's offense in the games Ensminger called.

Statistically, Etling is doing well. This is a reflection on Canada's coaching acumen.

Not saying he is a QB Whisperer...

Rather as a coach and game planner, he knows how to take what he QB has to offer and parlay that into a plan that puts his QB and offense into a position to succeed.

It also helps that we have Williams and Guice as RB's with what is currently a servicable Oline

Really hope he stays.

I think a QB with some more natural talent will really open his offense up. And I really don't want the guys having to learn another system.

I will reserve judgment until I see his offense with a weapon at QB and a better Oline with no Frosh starters.

I don't think this is a Canada or even an LSU team. I find that a lot of times even the very good teams don't pull away from weaker teams until the 2nd half. It may be that a lot of teams have decent first string players and depth advantages don't show through until later in the game.
