Game 3 - Accuracy was off, the confidence was not that present, and didn't see many changes at the line of scrimmage.

To say confidence wasn’t present invalidates the rest of your post. He wasn’t an all American by any means but if all the things that stuck out to me in the AU game it was his confidence and poise. Dude didn’t GAF where they were or who they were playing. He just went out and did his job. He made it pretty clear in my eyes on Saturday that it’s his team

Thoughts on Burrow so far? by LaTexSaint

We would be 1-2 if Brennan was our starter

For me it is to early to tell. He has made some great throws and some not great throws. I like his confidence in the pocket and his ability to step up and make throws when defenders are closing. He needs to work on his touch and throwing receivers open imo.

I am excited to see how he evolves by the end of the season.

You have no idea what we would be if Brennan was the starter.

I'd like to see Brennan play. He's without a doubt got a better arm than Burrow. What we saw from him as a true freshman was a bit of deer in the headlights. Would like to see him with more confidence. Not asking for him to start or anything, but he needs some playing time against the cupcakes.

The one thing Burrow has shown is a calmness and confidence about his play, which is something you can't teach and is necessary for a qb to have. He has not been very accurate, even when he completes passes, and the long ball has been horrid from him. He did put the ball on the money down the stretch against Auburn, and what more could you ask for in the clutch. I can chalk up a few of the incompletions to bad oline play or just throwing it away, but his deep balls in one on one coverage haven't been good at all down the sidelines.

I thought he'd be a better runner. His first few steps are so slow.

All in all, i think he can improve, and will, and he will give us a chance to compete at a high level this year, which makes me happy.
My complaints of him are merely constructive criticism at this point, and i'm mostly happy with his play given our history at the position.

I feel pretty good about him overall. Average arm talent when you compare him to other P5 QBs but he does a lot of other things well and is not mistake prone. He’s had chances to make big mistakes in these first games and has kept us out of bad situations. He seems to be a good leader and a gamer.
He’s not that different from Etling, just a little better at almost everything.

Dropping that pass right over a defender to Dillon, several clutch throws late, he is a gamer. Has had many balls dropped, WR's not getting much separation, yet he has fit some balls in nicely. He's going to get better with more experience, gives the Tigers a chance to be a playoff team!

Burrow is a little behind where I thought he would be --- I thought his completion percentage would be above 50% --- but unlike many here I thought his first few games would be a struggle as he learned the offense and learned to work with his new teammates and OC. I fully expected his production to pick up late Sept./early Oct. and still expect this to happen. If he continues to play smart football our offense should improve towards the back end of the season.

The accuracy issues are a big byproduct of what type of passes we are asking him to throw.

First quarter he went what like 6-7? And then basically didn’t attempt a throw of less than 15 yards for two quarters.

Matt Mauck type and that is all we need. Need a manager of the game.

That won't beat Bama or UGA. Auburn win was great, but these two are on a whole other level offensively, so we need to score points in bunches. Mauck threw a bunch of ints, Flynn was just woefully inefficient in most categories. They made up for that by scoring. Mauck had 29 TDs in 14 games and Flynn had 25 TDs in 12 games.

Burrow has to get better on the deep ball and LSU has to implement a more diverse and wide passing game. We have to keep forcing the passing game until it wakes up. The talent is in the WRs, they have to develop the fundamentals.

Here's to hoping the light comes on for everybody involved in the passing game like it did for the group in 2012.

Seriously confidence is the least of his issues. His arm strength and running ability are just ok but he definitely has the intangibles of confidence and knowing where to go with the ball.

He is so freaking posed 8n the picket, dies not get rattled. First qb. at LSU that I really don't worry when he goes back to pass at all.

This is his first real year to play. Practice is one thing but game experience make all the difference. He will improve and be very good as the season goes on.

And before the season started you probably didn’t think we’d beat Miami and Auburn either.

The passing game has to be optimum. That will allow the run game to get better.

Well, Burrow was named SEC offensive player of the week, so I think your analysis of Game 3 is faulty. That's my thought. Also, don't end a sentence in a preposition, for it can leave the reader in confusion.

He and the team are 3-0. Seriously, would like to see him complete some more passes, but maybe some of that is on receivers not being open. Dunno.

Tough. Winner. Intelligent. Makes some really nice throws. Misses too many that he shouldn't miss. I think the more he settles in the better he'll get. He has all the tools to be one of the best quarterbacks in the nation.

I had LSU at 9-3 with losses to Auburn, Bama, and UGA.

Auburn win surprised the hell out of me, but then again last year Auburn was up more vs us than this game and they came back and one.

Bama isn't Auburn, UGA isn't Auburn. The last time LSU scored more than 17 points vs Bama was 2010. This is by far the best offense and QB a Saban coached Bama team has ever had. We've given up 17 and 22 points to Miami and Auburn, who can't scratch what Bama is doing right now. In your honest opinion, do you expect LSU to beat Bama?

There is a chance with UGA, but they also have a great offense and a good defense. The offense has 3 more games to get ready for UGA. I still wouldn't place a bet that LSU wins that game.
