Did you ever think to ask them if they minded people standing up and cheering in front of them?

They made many pointed comments. Luckily this guy only went to one or two games a year and he drank so much he was gone to the head frequently. The people who sat between him and the aisle asked him once if he had a blender under his seat and was making daquiris.

I don't begrudge standing and yelling your head off on big plays, kickoffs, etc, I sure do.

"Back in the day we made fun of the fuktard Aggies that stood for the entire game. Sad to see that it's come to this in Tiger Stadium.

A lecture is wasted on you little inconsiderate twits. Your day will come when you'll be too old to stand for the entire game and you'll miss the winning play because of some young zipperhead standing in front of you."

If I live to be old enough where I can attend a game and not be able to stand, I will not complain but will be happy to be in the environment.. People that complain can easily go home or to the Rv and watch in on tv or listen on the radio. Tiger Stadium is not the place to sit in you seat and watch a game, it is a place you go to participate.. if you cannot just sit there and STFU .

I will end up spending the rest of my life in Angola because some dumb arse wants to stand in front of for a whole damn game. I really love the ones who stand in front of me and carry on a conversation and never look at the field. For the ones who stand in front of me, I would not piss on if they were on fire.

Does this answer your original question?

I can make a lot more noise in the SEZ Upper Deck when I stand than when sitting. So I prefer to stand.

But I try to be considerate of fans behind me if standing is difficult for them, i.e., if a child, sr. citizen, etc.

Why would anyone want to sit down at an LSU game?

Manners...good breeding...respect for others...they've been working for a living and want to sit and relax instead of watching someone else's kids' backside the whole damn game...maybe they don't get their personal sense of identity and superiority by how long they stand at football games...

Exactly. There's a difference between getting charged up for a big play or standing and yelling your arse off presnap before a big play, and being an arse that feels they have to stand up on 2nd and 5 while the Tigers on offense...and your supposed to be relatively quiet. You know, so JJ can get the snap count to his offense. Why is it necessary to block those behind you UNTIL JJ throws the bomb that will land in LaFell's hands for the TD...

No you won't. You'll be pissed because the one game you chose to go to that year...in your old age to relive memories...some 23 old (give or take a few years) douche bag, yes, you will think like that eventually, had to prove his nuts in front of everyone he thinks is watching HIM, and stand for EVERY PLAY.

It's a bummer that some shouldn't be able to show their support for the Tigers when their bodies can't support the religion of their fandom anymore...

It really pisses me off when fans bitch about people standing. I have no issue with you wanting to sit or you wanting to have an unobstructed view, but YOU frickING HAVE THE OPTION TO BUY ROW 1 TICKETS. If it bothers you that much, get your damn wallet out and buy tickets that you won't have to worry about people standing in front of you.

Personally, I have trouble EVER sitting in an SEC game unless we get way ahead.

All that said, however, I try to be considerate of those behind me. For example, if it's an 70 year old lady behind me and she politely asks me to sit down, I'll oblige as best I can.

More often than not, though, when someone behind us asks us to sit down they will do it in a very rude manner or simply shout "sit down" or "down in front." When that happens, I typically stand the rest of the game just to be vindictive.

It's all in the way you are approached. If they are a dick about it from the beginning, then I'll be a dick and stand like I believe all fans should be doing anyway at ALL times when we're on defense. If they're polite about it in asking me, then I'll try and be accomodating and only stand on big plays.

When we're on defense and there is EVER a third or fourth down, though, I'm standing and don't give a shite what anyone behind me says. If it's a huge SEC game, big bowl game or SECCG, good luck getting me to sit down I'm usually so amped up.

I have noticed you and I think very differently on many topics.. and trust me i would not begrudge anyone from standing in TS.. If I want to sit I sit If I want to stand because the guy in front of me is standing I stand. I would never tell anyone how to act, if that was the case I would be talking to people all the time.. Just live your life how you want to and let everyone live theirs, you will not change peoples behavior.

Luckily my seats are in a section of the east side that doesn't have many YDFOC's. The people there have been sitting together for years and even ask others if they want anything when they go to the concession stand. We get the occasional jerk, but not that often.

Funniest was about 5 years ago and these two double-wide denizens were sitting behind us and getting drunk as hell, profanities followed every play, they were generally acting like Saints fans. The people who usually sat there had given the tickets to these two employees of theirs as a reward. The guy sitting next to them knew the seat owners, so about 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter he hands one of the drunks his cell phone and say "your boss wants to talk to you". I can hear behind me a string of "yes sirs", the guy hangs up the phone and hands it back. At halftime they left and never came back.

Interesting that you use the so much, because that is typically my actual reation when someone behind us tells us to sit down.
